After an unprotected lip kiss between former members of indie rock sweethearts Weston, Tonight We Escape and Imidazole, CORDOVA was born on the last hour of the first day of the Spring of 2004 in the Lehigh Valley district of eastern Pennsylvania. They are currently in the studio tracking their first full-length album "Lie Until It Becomes The Truth".
Their sound whispers the influence of The Pixies, The Beatles, The Cure, Archers of Loaf, Brian Wilson, Phil Spector, The Jealous Sound, Jawbreaker and Death Cab for Cutie, however, it never stops screaming with miscalculated innovation. They've titled their architecture 'Educated Experimentation'. Which seems aptly named. I mean they sound like that booksmart kid in chemistry who you knew dated all the records you've never heard of and flirted brutally with mind expansion. Sometimes amibtion works and CORDOVA is one of those times.
Maybe fiction is actually stranger than the facts.
I mean the lies are certainly more interesting than the truth.
