Core began writing material in the winter of 2011. Having been in the same studio together in 2009, the members of Core have incredible chemistry, and its chemistry shows through on all of their many originals. The four piece from upstate N.Y. have been spending the beginning part of 2012 writing and arranging material for their debut CD release tentatively titled "Lilith".
The bands first show together on 05/25/2012 was an opening slot with national band HURT. Core was well recieved and garnered much attention from members of HURT management, local radio and left an impression on the club owner who accepted them with open arms.
Core has a wide variety of musical influences although the grunge meets pink floyd sound is most prevalent. Gritty vocals, snarling guitar work, bass riffs that hang you out there and combined with the drums lure you right back in.
The new material they are writing is far from cookie cutter. They have molded new tracks with obscene tempo changes and key changes that are incredibly perverse, leaving the words to sink in and really hit home.
