Bio

Coriander is a new and refreshing addition to the local music scene in Virginia, with its roots in Norfolk and inspiration from nearly every genre.
Founding members; Adrienne Gainer, Will Renn, Graham Hanson and Holly Byrum, aim to awaken the social conscience of people everywhere through their songs of environmental, political, social and moral awareness.
The band has an EP consisting of 5 original songs; Can't Slip Away, Adro's Carnival,Trees on Mars, Starving and Break Chains. These tracks feature singer, Adrienne Gainer and rapper Will Renn as the vocal section, accented by Graham Hanson on drums and Holly Byrum on keyboard.
Each of the members of Coriander has an extensive history in their respective role. Adrienne, better known as Adro!, began her career as a vocalist at an early age when she was selected to audition for the gifted and talented program in her elementary school. She began writing music in High School when her parents purchased music making software for her. She has since produced several tracks under her middle name Carmel, for the Wonicle Mixtape Vol.1, which can be found on itunes, Zune music store, and last.fm-- as well her website www.Carmelody.net. Rapping for Coriander is Will Renn, also known as Wildabeast. With over 10 years spent honing his lyrical flow, Will hopes to change the world through his verbal expression. He has been involved with one other project prior to Coriander, called Even The Kitchen Sink. Aside from work with bands, Will has produced solo work under the name Wildabeast, for the E.P. Wonicle Mixtape Vol.1 which received radio play from the radio station 96X and can be found on the Wonicle media website at www.Wonicle.com.
Holly Byrum leads the melody on Keyboard with 22 years of experience and a BS in Music Business & Technology. When she's not busy with Coriander, Holly teaches piano lessons; it's her way to give back to her community and pass on her passion for music. Graham Hanson (Grahambone) holds it together for Coriander on the drums. Bone has 13 years of experience, during which he has played with many local bands; most notably Strange Device?! and Swampcat, between which he has played over 30 live shows, including The Norva (x2), Virginia Wesleyan College, Geared Up, Mojo Bones, Bayside Inn, and many more.
As a band, these members create a cohesive and fluid sound that is unlike anything else in the current music scene. Difficult to classify under the typical genre labels, the members of Coriander have yet to determine
how to classify their music. With each track expressing its own life, no two will ever sound the same-- part of the charm of Coriander is its individuality, expressionism and uniqueness. More important than the genre is the message that Coriander wishes to convey to its audience. They encourage awareness to promote a better future, while using their music to tear down the wall of tradition and out-dated thinking. Guaranteed to move you in more ways than one, Coriander is unlike anything you've ever heard before. The music industry will never be the same.
