Bio

Discovering your destiny at an early age always has its challenges. But using every outlet to make it happen is an important aspect of an artist and their development. Born and raised in the Far Rockaway section of Queens, NY, Corporal Asskick better know as Corporal A.K began his journey at the age six listening to Hip Hop legends such as Kool G Rap, Rakim, and KRS 1. As he got older, growing up in the ‘90s artists like Nas, Biggie Smalls, Jay-z became monumental influences when it came to lyrical creativity. However, it was at the 1987 Jack the Rapper contest in Wyandanch High School where he fell in love with the stage. Even though he did not do the greatest job starting out, it planted a seed from that moment on.
Being from “Far Rock” you have to know how to survive in a community where only hustlers reign supreme. Even though his family has always supported his craft, reality of his every day struggle got the best of him and his dreams of rapping came a distant memory. It was not until he made a promise to his mother on her deathbed that he gave up the street life completely and focused on his music.
Corporal first single was debuted on DJ Whiteowl’s mixtape in January 2009 entitled From Far Rock to Y.O. featuring Styles P from recording rap group D-Block. The single was an instant hit that it was also featured on two of Style P’s mixtape's hosted by DJ O.P. along with various underground and mainstream radio stations such as Shade 45 and Hot 97.1 in New York City. Corporal’s credibility as an artist grew among well-known DJs that in the winter of 2009 Corporal released his own mixtape titled Ms. Murray’s Son hosted by G-Unit/Shadyville's own DJ Young Cee.
After the release of his mixtape, Corporal had the opportunity to work with Philly’s finest Gillie the Kid, Billy Danze of M.O.P, Max Payne, international artists, as well as former Bad Boy recording artist Jeremy Greene, He has also fulfilled a childhood dream by working with Hip Hop legend Kool G Rap. He has also toured with various artists across the nation and just recently returned from touring in U.K., Africa, and Japan with Billy Danze and Source Magazine’s Courtney Brown.
Perfecting his craft more with each passing day, Corporal has made it his musical and personal mission to bring back the true essence of Hip Hop to its true and new fans worldwide. One of the main elements that inspire his music ability is the fact that Hip Hop is being destroyed and commercialized and fans are being robbed of listening to its true art form.
Corporal Asskick music is definitely considered to have a pure feel of Hip Hop to it that can be considered untouchable in day’s music arena, which is surely to leave you talking and the social media buzzing.
