Bio

Once upon a time there was a band called Cat Time. Fellow non-humanoids Stu & Josh would attend and slam-dance at their brain-scraping avant-garde shows. Once Cat Time was no more, Cryptic Josh Villaire and Stuart Sewer were bored, awash in the profound nihilism which Grand Rapids had to offer. They drew breath into the Corrosive Kids, originally backed by Rob Beckwith on bass, and Corey "Eno Diamond" Ruffin on drums an sax. More of a form of art terrorism than a music group, we started instantaneously (on a dare) for a gothy anti-prom, where Corrosive Kids rocked the Casbah and Morningstar 75's 10 Weston Theatre! Simultaneously, the Corrosive Kids and Corey's Super Happy Fun-time Burlesque were created out of thin air, and the world was more bruised and battered than ever before!

(The Corrosive Kids actually were the first band to play onstage with Super Happy Funtime, and because we scared away so many people in our first incarnation we were asked not to play with them again.)

The band now sports the drumming eclectics of Voodoo James Moroski (AKA The Inside Otlaw, Andy Mo, or Andy Ashtray) who was originally drumming on shopping carts in Ken's (from Cat Time) later creation Oni Gosen which was mostly a improvised outfit of noisy crowd punishment!

For a while, our bass player was Mickey Mackenzie, but as he got busy with a real band, he recommended our current member Missile Toe (AKA Melissa Schnur). She's rocked us through many storms, covering Polystyrene's classic "Oh Bondage, Up Yours" with more vigor and fanaticism than one could ever hope to expect from the Spex. She shepherded us through Joy Division's "Isolation" cover and she was also there during the infamous climatic Louie's show where I proceeded to wear a jacket completely be-speckled with mirrors in the intent of blinding and or self actualizing the jaded audience, who in essence should not be treated like cattle and lowered to the infinitum identity of a fly on the wall waisting their lives only perceiving the world as spectators. Corrosive Kids aim to throttle imagination, and if your a brave soul that chooses to attend our fiascoes of riotous subliminal mind-quacking than you are a pioneer of an always existing reality that is overlooked in our modern spit vacuum...You are making a frightening step towards discovery!!! Who knows? You might be swallowed whole by the ailments of your own limited world view! Come on, give us a try! We've been kicking against the pricks for over 5 years now... come sacrifice yourself to the rock n' roll diety!
