Corey Doucette, an Island boy through and through from Winslow, has been creating music ever since he picked up the guitar at the age of 14. Over the years he has played in, and written for such bands as Birmingham and Dreams among Stars, also doing many Canadian tours with both acts. He takes writing music very seriously, to him music is an art, using words and melodies to paint a vision, to capture feelings and thoughts. His first solo album, .... Introducing Corey Doucette.... has a haunting feel, with songs that tell stories, sometimes dark, and sometimes uplifting. Choosing not be influenced by other artist, he took a break from listening to music to create this album, which yes, is impossible, but to not study a song or gather inspiration was the idea, this was an experiment for the young singer songwriter, to find out what would be written with only your mind at the wheel. Weather a love song, or life, and the many things it contains, from leaving the world behind, to tales of lonesome roads and sins to be told, the album delivers simple but captivating tracks, that you will find yourself humming when you least expect it . He has come a long way since his punk rock days, saying that he has finally found his writing style, and is looking forward to sharing it with music lovers, where ever they may be.
