When You Were Young

When you were young

When you were young
And so fresh of life
You wondered why the seasons changed
But let me tell you a story
The summers were hot
But the winters would come
And Rain would fall pleasantly
Soothing but cold
I wish that I could be back in that time again

If time could stand still
We could relive the things in the past
Give me just one more chance
And I’ll make it last
Innocence is gone away
But we still want to hide instead
Profanity was simply a slip of the tongue
When you were young

The tables have turned
And now you pay the bills
Your childhoods gone and along with its thrills
If life were like it used to be
Say, you’re a man with a beautiful wife
Who’s brother’s dreams were cut short by a knife
Let’s pretend that we are kids again

If time could stand still
We could relive the things in the past
Give me just one more chance
And I’ll make it last
Innocence is gone away
But we still want to hide instead
Profanity was simply a slip of the tongue
When you were young
So just give me one last chance. (One last chance)

The Sun Will Rise

The Sun Will Rise

Look up to see you
Shining bright through my rearview
White glare pierces off my lens
Reach up take hold
See the whole world unfold
Like the page in a pop out picture book

Wish I could spread my own wing
Sing a son in the beams

Of the sun
Dance around in the hot rays of the sun
Found love in the comfort of the sun
May fall, but we’ll stand up
Because the sun will rise another day

Sit back and just wait
Its gonna be a great day
When earth begins to turn around
Some people don’t know what to say
But I write the words, ‘cause my voice is heard by you
So let your light shine down on me

Wish I could spread my own wing
Sing a son in the beams

Of the sun
Dance around in the hot rays of the sun
Found love in the comfort of the sun
May fall, but we’ll stand up
Because the sun will rise another day

One day we’ll find love in the sun
Until that day we’ve just begun
So now you think that im the one
Lets hope that all is said and done

Look up to see you
Shining bright through my rearview
White glare pierces off my lens

In the sun
Dance around in the hot rays of the sun
Found love in the comfort of the sun
May fall, but we’ll stand up
Because the sun will rise another day
Because the sun will rise another day
