With each record, Robinson just keeps getting better and better at what he does. He’s really hit stride on this record, his already great voice maturing and him using it to explore even more emotional nooks and crannies in his writing and production. Check out the closing of “A Woman Like You.” Along those lines, “Soul” is a lover’s tasty, musical smorgasbord, full of thoughtful, tender and sensual tracks that should make folks, well, fall in love. (Yeah, fellas, you might want to be careful—you girl might fall in love with my man if you don’t handle your business while letting her check this out!) If you’re going to spend your hardearned dough on some music to set up the perfect evening for an upcoming Valentine’s Day celebration— or any “special” day for that matter—you might as well get your money’s worth in spades and spend it with one of Fort Waltons own, Cory Robinson
.If you like real soul music and real lovers’ music, I guarantee you can search far and wide and you’ll be hard pressed to find any new offering better than “Soul”—anywhere.

Bio

Born Cory DeWayne Robinson, This self produced arsenal of talent has been compared to the stylings of artist like Donell Jones, Ginuwine, Sam Cooke, Terence Trent Darby and Musiq just to name a few. By the pairing up of urban beats, clever arrangements and smooth but sometimes raspy soulful lyrics, Cory comes with the type of sound that one can only call nothing but absolute genius. His sound was already making waves on the streets by the latter part of 1994, when Cory first set off to join the ranks of some of the industries tightest urban R&B artist. While serving in the Armed forces, he was scouted and then signed to an Hawaiian based record label (Homeless records) from which brought him notable exposer and a number of head nods from labels such as "Laface records". With an album ready to be released in early 1998..., the record company (Homeless) failed in marketing stragerty and the project never succeeded. Robinson continued on and was seen in various performances including MTV's (The cut) (then hosted by TLC's Lisa "Left eye" Lopez, while also been chosen to open for artist such as Brian McKnight. Robinson then continued on to start his own independent record label Crob Productions. From this venture was the birth of not one but two incredible projects. Cory's first independent project "The Lady disk" gave us just a taste of the vibe Cory Robinson could bring to the industry. With its cool and sometimes seductive way of story telling, the lyrics seem to jump out of the speakers and into your imagination. Its smooth musical style and "as said earlier" clever vocal arrangements, return you to the R&B styles of old but with the modern urban twists of day's genre. This album delivered a style that is undoubtedly the sh... Cory Robinson's most current album entitled "Soul" is a self expressive album and an ode to the age of the slick and the cool and not a minute to soon. This follow up to "The Lady Disk", from beginning to end returns us to a smoother sound of the more recent years of R&B, but also keeps within the vibe some of today's genre of R&B and hip hop. "Soul" is not the first and will not be the last of it's style of music delivery. If you are ready for a phenonmial performance. Experience the Artist known as Cory Robinson.
