"Costello Go !"

Last up on the bill are local indie popsters, Costello, who in their short life so far, have been lauded by Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens from the BBC, and landed themselves a gig supporting US chart toppers, Rooney, on their UK tour.

The twitchy, nervous energy the band exude, is only matched by the sharpness of their suits, obviously a nod to mod, and their lyrics, which seem to be a return to Strummeresque polemic, yet set to tunes so catchy, they would send the Kaiser Chiefs running to their Abba collection for solace.

A real find.

Bio

Formed late in 2006, in Leyland, near Preston in Lancashire. A powerful, yet extremely melodic three piece band, we perform with fire and skill, and have an armoury of songs that are destined for greatness !!!

Catchy, dance-able bass lines, and super tight drumming, underpinning melodic, indie style, power-pop anthems, gritty, witty lyrics and choruses so catchy, they should come with a health warning….this is Costello.

“They take the British tradition of Davies/Weller/Albarn songcraft, and make their own unique sound.” Chorley FM

Within weeks of performing their first gigs, Costello have found themselves a very large local following, with the strange experience of crowds of people singing along to songs that only sprang to life a few weeks ago !

In mid 2007, our track, “Back to the Noughties” was made demo of the week on the Steve Lamacq Radio 1 show, and since then, things have been very hectic !

Every generation has held the pop song close to its collective hearts, a “pop song” was a thing of beauty, which becomes a soundtrack to your life. This was taken away in the mid nineties, and replaced by auto-tuned computer spew out songs.

We are here to change this.

Listen to the songs.
