ABOUT KATHLEEN BLACKWELL:

After earning two bachelor degrees from The University of Texas at Austin (Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film with a focus in International Communications and Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations) Kathleen made the move to Los Angeles to work for Sony Music Distribution as a Field Marketing Representative for Sony Classical, then working her way up to a Sales Representative, before jumping over to Sony Music to work as a Packaging Manager where she oversaw projects from artists like Korn, Slayer, “South Park,” and Heart.

While with Sony Music, Kathleen also wrote and produced a local radio show, “Silver Signings,” which focused on weaving modern day musical artists through a historical perspective—tapping into the roots of each musical genre. After years of working on other artist’s projects, she sat down at the piano and began to write her own music; 2009 saw the debut of her first CD “To Be Human,” which was nominated for the LA Music Awards, Triple A 'Album Of The Year' 2009.

She is currently developing and marketing her Cougar Rock concept, which combines fashion, merchandise & music and is the forefront of "branding artist development."

Kathleen is signed with Gotham Records Music Placement.

SURRENDERED

Written By: Kathleen Blackwell & Ronan Chris Murphy

SURRENDERED
Verse 1:
When you touch me there—
I lay in you.
When you hold my hair—
Up from the corner of my baby-blues,
So you can watch me go down…
Pre-Chorus:
I realize—I am alive.
I realize—I’m on auto-drive…
Chorus:
(When you…)
Touch me—I’m wanting you.
Breath with me—I surrender.
Touch me—I’m craving you.
I am surrendered.
Verse 2:
On a porch painted blue—
I fell for you.
With a song in my heart—
You stole my love boy right there on the spot,
Then you whispered, “Follow me.”
Pre-Chorus:
I realize—I am alive.
I realize—I’m on auto-drive…

Chorus:
(When you…)
Touch me—I’m wanting you.
Breath with me—I surrender.
Touch me—I’m craving you.
I am surrendered.
Extended Verse 3:
Watch—me—surrender,
Watch—me—surrender,
Watch—me—surrender,
Chorus:
(When you…)
Touch me—I’m wanting you.
Breath with me—I surrender.
Touch me—I’m craving you.
I am surrendered.
Repeat.

BODY ROCK

Written By: Kathleen Blackwell & Ronan Chris Murphy & Arthur Edstrom

BODY ROCK

Verse 1:
Friday night got my rockin’ boots on,
Bass is thumping and my beat is strong,
‘Cause my mind is clear that I lust for you.

Verse 2:
Sh-Shakin’ my hips got no panties on,
Movin’ your way ‘cause your vibe is strong,
‘Cause I clearly see—I got that look from you.

Pre-Chorus:
Thinkin’ about…

Chorus:
Me and you on this dance floor,
Boom-ditty-bop—trippin’ the D’Jay,
Me and you dancing hardcore,
Boom-ditty-bop—Boom your body rock.

Verse 3:
Crushin’ on you as our bodies groove,
Wonderin’ what’s your next move,
Just wanna wrap my legs around you boy.

Verse 4:
You whisper in my ear—I hear,
You say, “Hey dancer—wanna get outta here.”
Then we rock together—and we’re out the door.

Pre-Chorus:
Thinkin’ about…

Chorus:
Me and you on this dance floor,
Boom-ditty-bop—trippin’ the D’Jay,
Me and you dancing hardcore,
Boom-ditty-bop—Boom your body rock.

Bridge:
You lean to me and we’re kissin’,
We twist and turn our position,
We rock the floor with ambition,
You start this fire and I’m wishin’

Solo:

Verse 5:
Outside the club we’re headed home,
Your fingertips—they’re startin’ to roam,
And my boots are rockin’—I’m still dancing with you.

Verse 6:
Up ‘till dawn—ditty do—what a day.
We smiled and said, “Thank you Mr. D’Jay.”
‘Cause this night was fun—we’re ready to dance again.

Chorus:
Me and you on this dance floor,
Boom-ditty-bop—trippin’ the D’Jay,
Me and you dancing hardcore,
Boom-ditty-bop—Boom your body rock.
Me and you on this dance floor,
Boom-ditty-bop—trippin’ the D’Jay,
Me and you dancing hardcore,
Boom-ditty-bop—Boom your body rock.

Dancer—You’re Body Rock.

ALIVE & FREE

Written By: Kathleen Blackwell & Ronan Chris Murphy & Chris Brinkley

ALIVE & FREE

Verse 1:
Listen now—I’m taking my life back.
You’ve pushed too far—so here’s a big push back.

Pre-Chorus:
Now I am free to be lovin’—all of me,
I’m breaking from your oppression.
Can’t you see, I don’t need,
You to be controlling me,
‘Cause…

Chorus 1:
I’m alive and free,
I’m through with you crushing me,
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.

Verse 2:
Watch me now, I’m clearly stepping out.
You’ve judged enough—so shut that great big mouth.

Pre-Chorus:
Now I am free to be lovin’—all of me,
I’m moving on from the repression.
Can’t you see, I don’t need,
You to crush all my dreams,
‘Cause

Chorus 2:
I’m alive and free,
I’m rockin’ my dream,
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.

Bridge:
When I wake up—you are not there.
Can I tell you—life is good again.

Verse 3:
Had your chance—to share this delicious life.
Lost your chance—you’ve broken through thin ice.

Pre-Chorus:
Now I am free to be lovin’—all of me,
I’m kicking out your transgressions,
Can’t you see, that I don’t need,
You to be controlling me,
‘Cause

Chorus:
I’m alive and I’m free,
I’m through with you crushing me,
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.
I’m living life—livin’ it to the fullest.
I’m alive and I’m free,
I’m alive and I’m free,
I’m alive and I’m free.

Wake up and go to work and sleep repeat again.
Hello Mr. Mirror that’s how all my days begin.

I know a change is in order.

Turn:
All of these things are true,
I’m in need of something new,
Wanna break free with you,
You could be that something new.

Verse 2:
Wake-and-work and sleep and wake and work repeat again
Goodnight Mr. Mirror that’s how all my nights begin.

My life is so predictable,
Because I am so typical,
My life is so predictable,
I know a change is in order.

Turn:
