Couldn't Be Happiers

What do you get when you cross a tattooed troubadour from Texas with a sweet (but mostly sassy) little country singer from Carolina? You get a fun little musical experiment we have dubbed the "Couldn't Be Happiers."

Although the "Couldn't Be Happiers" band is more than the sum of its parts, here's what you need to know about the duo's individual musicians:

Jodi Hildebran is a singer/songwriter whose love of pop and Americana music permeates her writing. She grew up in a small town in the foothills of North Carolina called Hildebran (if you ask her, she will say her family named the town, but there's a good chance she just made that up). She started her music career at the age of 5 years old, singing songs from Disney movies at her mom's hair salon to a captive audience of patrons (captive, of course, because many of them could not escape even if they wanted to). She plays harmonica, guitar, and drums when the venue or occasion calls for it. Still, it's her voice that no one forgets.

Jordan Crosby Lee is a native Texan who first picked up a few chords before heading to college at Wake Forest. He now calls Carolina home, but there's a bit of Texas in every chord he plays. With lyrical echoes of Todd Snider and James McMurtry, he's a pure songwriter, loading as many lyrics as possible into each measure. For the past 15 years, he has played throughout Central and South Texas and Western Carolina. Along the way he picked up a wide range of cover songs that he has "made his own" by injecting a shot of bluegrass and two of Texas country. He plays rhythm guitar, sings lead, and tries his best to harmonize.
