"Countermyne"

Countermyne

This local metal cohort faces Face Down Saturday in the next skirmish of the Battle of the Bands at Rick's Bar & Grill. Countermyne even employs war paint - the guitarist is known to color his face and ears black for gigs. He and the singer also dye their short hair fluorescent colors. But it's their sound that won them victory in a previous round. "Dirty Euros" employs rapid-fire kick drum and a larynx-wasting screech. "Headcold" uses the Nirvana scream-to-whisper strategy.

Playing at 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Rick's Bar and Grill, 2213 Gray Highway. 742-9274. $5. - Macon Telegraph

"Countermyne"

Between 4 guys, it sounds like a million personalities in this progressive, hard, metal/rock band. Music that grooves and then in an instant thrashes and destroys everything, then rebuilds to the order just to perpetuate the cycle of killer sound is all we can provide. If you havent heard this band, you are truely missing something unique and original. - AtlantaLocalMusic.com

Discography

So far we've only managed a demo as of 2005. We are currently working on our album due by the end of the year.

Bio

The band came together because it had to. We wanted to share our stories and affect lives with music that we would want to hear, ourselves. So in a way, the music is not only for our fans, but its therapy for us too.
Our sound comes from our influences, but its between the lines of our originality. Our influences are from the likes of Tool, Deftones, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Glassjaw, Filter, Helmet, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc.
Aside from the guitar player painting his face for every show and the singers colored hair and punk-like facade, the band has an energy thats unlike many others. With serpentine like movements that transition to chaotic thrashing, this band is dynamic and progressive to its core. Definately a must see thing.
