Counterpart

Formed in your typical small southern redneck town emerges the band Counterpart. A group of young guys brought together with one thing in common and that is playing the music that we love. From a chance meeting in the spare bedroom of our drummers house we began to have late night jam sessions when we realized we had destinct sound by the overwhelming response of our friends who continued to grow at each weekend jam session. These events lead to writing our first original song "Indifference" and moving the equipment down into the greatroom. Five original songs later, and five nights of cop visits it was official, "Counterpart" was formed. We then began the process of speaking our mind through our music. Dustin and Joe coming from a classic rock band and pairing up with Trae and Chris from a metal background the resulting sound was definitely different. Soon following Buddy was added with a background in country and bluegrass guitar, this made for a totally unique sound. Our influences are Tool, Silverchair, Led Zeppelin, Pantera, Black Label Society, Lacuna Coil, Alice in Chains, Hank Williams Jr. and Lyrnrd Skynard .....
Although we have individual backgrounds we are counterparts which together form the music that expresses a little bit of each of our lives.
