Bio

When Country was a in the 2rd grade she came home from school one day, looked up at her mom and said “mom, I need a dress.”
“For what?” her mother inquired.
“I’m singing in a competition tomorrow, and I need a dress”
Her mother, never having heard her daughter sing, skeptically asked “what are you going to sing? ” and commanded her to “sing it now, for me.”
So she stood, in the middle of the kitchen, hands on her hips, and belted out the Scottish folk song “Loch Lommand.” The only reply her stunned mother could muster was “Well, I guess we’d better find you a dress!” The next day she won the competition and she’s been singing ever since.
Although she’s all grown up now, she’s lost none of the tenacity and stage presence that she had at age 7, and continues to captivate audiences. She has been touring in her band “The Bash Brothers” for the last four years but, but with the departure of her band mate, has had to re-earth a more solo approach. “Country Legs” will release her first solo album, “Ya Bastard,” on July 30th in her home town, Nanaimo BC. Drawing from female heroes’ such as Edith Piaf, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Martha Wainright and Cat Power, she’s created a powerfully feminine album. Her passion for old timey country and gospel shines through in the recording, as well as her classical piano background. A very talented lady, Country Legs, magnetic and edgy, always aim to impress.
