Bio
County Road 4 have been honing their blend of country, rock, and Americana in bars, back yards, and festivals for eight years. We have developed a reputation as a solid live band with a show that mixes our own originals with occasional covers from our favorite artists.
Hailing from Greensboro, Alabama, the deepest of the Deep South, the members of County Road 4 are steeped in the musical and cultural influences of the region. Frontman Jamie Thomas reads Rimbaud and makes old-fashioned syrup in his spare time. Bassist Jim Harless can tell you where every turkey in Mount Hermon, Alabama resides with 98% accuracy, then play you his favorite Mystikal track. Guitarist John Allan Clark played in a punk band and an acoustic trio before joining CR4, and will cook you shrimp and grits at the slightest provocation. Drummer Richard Arrington studied jazz drumming but listens to the Deftones and James McMurtry for fun.
With influences running the gamut from the Band, the Drive-by-Truckers, the Gourds, Lucero, Neil Young, James McMurtry, Gram Parsons, the Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, and George Strait, our music blurs genre lines. We just prefer to call it Americana, it's hard to go wrong with that.
Our first "real" full-length LP is in now in production with a release scheduled for January 2013.
