COURTESY of NOTHING

"WHERE WEVE BEEN"

An Extensive Bio written by Tim DiPietro

A lot of people come up to us and ask "What does COURTESY of NOTHING mean and what exactly does it represent?" I tell them one thing...Independence. It means finding strength within yourself and being able to conquer all of lifes feats without outside influence so that maybe one point later in your life, you can say that you accomplished everything COURTESY of NOTHING and no one. For this band however, it stands for the individual representation of teamwork in hopes of bringing our music to the masses. Without each other, we are nothing.

The band COURTESY of NOTHING is based out of Toms River, NJ which is located minutes from the legendary Seaside Heights, NJ. The band started off with the name namebrand back in early 2001. The music is a collaboration of many different hard rock elements, although the vocals help to retain the music's authentically emotional vibe. With such musical inspirations ranging from bands like Incubus, Tool and Pantera, to vocal inspirations of bands like KoRn and Linkin Park, the music is diverse, although COURTESY of NOTHINGs musical foundation stays true to pure rock elements above and beyond.

In the summer of 2002, COURTESY of NOTHING released what was to be their definitive breakthrough radio single "Rise and Fall" a song with the catchy-ness and rock appeal that many of todays modern rock tracks contain. It received mass radio play in the local Jersey-Shore area on radio stations such as 95.9fm WRAT, 105.5fm WDHA, 94.1fm WYSP, 93.3fm WMMR, B98.5fm and G106.3fm. When all was said and done with the track, the band had independently distributed over 2,000 copies of the song, making its way to all corners of the country. With the new single and an EPs worth of other material, COURTESY of NOTHING went on to play countless area shows. They came in FIRST PLACE at many BATTLE OF THE BANDS competitions, only to prove that they were serious about what they did and meant business. COURTESY of NOTHINGs next single "A Little Deeper" received a similar response, being featured on local radio, as well as Garagebands.com, a site for any band to upload their music to try and rank above and beyond to land out on top of a very prestigious list of talented local acts across the globe.
