COURT JESTER BIOGRAPHY:
Returning in 2006 with their sophomore release, “STRANGELAND,” Cellar Records recording artist, Court Jester, has musically matured and proved their boasts of being the premier Whiskey Rockers in the U.S. Coming quickly off the heels of “Low Down’s” [Gina; Cellar Records ©2003] successful run at commercial radio across the nation, Court Jester is returning to the scene with an all new album and an all new live line-up.

“Strangeland” truly marks the growth of the band’s musicianship. Dan Boehne has now taken the reins and stepped up to the mic becoming the new voice of Court Jester, and has brought a new rawness to the band that seems to have rejuvenated the band. Accompanied by founding member, James Azrael on guitars; Producer, Todd Joos on bass; Bob “the Birdman” Brady on drums; and featuring special guest Dizzy Reed of Guns N’ Roses on piano and Hammond C2 Organ.

Focusing on their hard rock and blues roots with “Strangeland,” Court Jester really hits home with songs like “Hollywood Girl,” “Ain’t Comin’ Back,” and “They Can’t Catch Me.” And songs like “This Life” really let Dan’s new vocal duties shine and also prove why Dizzy Reed is one of the top keyboardists in rock today. The epic love song, “Destiny’s Dance,” brings in a full string section and proves without a doubt that these guys have musically matured and will continue to surprise their fans. And the personal homage and cover of the heart-tearing Motorhead tune, “1916,” sums up and closes the album leaving the listener in awe.

The excitement doesn’t end with the music on the album either. Long time fan and friend of Court Jester, infamous comic book artist Tone Rodriguez (Conan, Simpson’s Tree House of Horrors, Violent Messiahs) brought his pen to the table and designed the artwork for the new album cover. In addition, the coloring is done by DC Comics colorist, Wes Dzioba (Hawkman, Superman: Secret Files)

Lyrics

This Life

Written By: Azrael, James

When a boy meets a girl
For the first time in their lives
Something magical happens
But the truths, they are just lies
You were the angel of my heart
Etched upon my mind
And now that you’re gone
The memories deepen inside

Pre-Chorus:
Now you come by to see me
Only to twist in the knife
And the more that you hurt me
The more I cling to life ‘cause

Chorus:
This life belongs to me
And no one has control of my destiny
I fight and I fight
All these feelings inside
But when it comes down to it
This life belongs to me

Monday on thru till Friday
You lived a Las Vegas dream
Saturday was for whiskey
And the whiskey would redeem
Then Sunday would come
And you’d repent for your sins
You’d get that look in your eyes
Then you’d do it all over again

Pre-Chorus:
But now you come to see me
Only to twist in the knife
And the more that you hurt me
The more I cling to life ‘cause

Chorus:
This life belongs to me
And no one has control of my destiny
I fight and I fight
All these feelings inside
But when it comes down to it
This life belongs to me

Bridge:
Someday it will come
When you need me back inside
I may hate what it brings
But you know that I’ll oblige

Pre-Chorus:
And when you come to see me
You won’t need to twist the knife
And for all the times that you hurt me
I’ll let you right back into my life ‘cause

Chorus:
This life belongs to me
And no one has control of my destiny
I fight and I fight
All these feelings inside
But when it comes down to it
This life belongs to me
This life, This life
This life, This life
This life belongs to me

Hollywood Girl

Written By: Azrael, James

Little darlin’ are you alone
Lookin’ for someone you can take home
Reach in your purse pull out your phone
Behind closed doors you’ll start to groan

Chorus:
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you alone?
Lookin’ for someone you can take home?
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you made of stone?
I’m your wild life; I’ll make you moan!

Opening your eyes is like flying a plane
Look in the mirror forget your name
From here on you’re life ain’t the same
Don’t fight it girl take the cocaine!!

Chorus:
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you alone?
Lookin’ for someone you can take home?
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you made of stone?
I’m your wild life; I’ll make you moan!
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you alone?
Lookin’ for someone you can take home?
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you made of stone?
I’m your wild life; I’ll make you moan!

Bridge:
High heels… Mini-skirts…
Pouty lips… cherry red…
Backstage… all access…
Tell ‘em… your with the band!

Chorus:
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you alone?
Lookin’ for someone you can take home?
I said hey! Hollywood Girl, are you made of stone?
I’m your wild life; I’ll make you moan!
I said hey! I said hey! I said hey! I said hey!
I said hey! Hollywood Girl!

They Can't Catch Me

Written By: Azrael/Boehne

Flyin’ down the interstate; Right behind with their cherries lit
Pedal to the metal and my gears a grindin’, they’ll see me in Hell
Sittin’ there dark in an alleyway; Sirens scream off the bricks, oh yeah
Somethin’s knockin’ on the side of my car; Tryin’ to steal my day
Steal my day! Steal my day!

Chorus
They can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!

It’s a mad dash for the edge of town; Smokin tires make the Bandit proud
They conspire as I’m ready to kick some ass; But they know that they just don’t stand a chance cause
Their roadblocks are set up just ahead; Guns ‘er blazin like it’s Custer’s Last Stand
Pushin’ it over straight into the red; God knows this ain’t gonna be my end
Be my end! Be my end!

Chorus
They can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!
They jump to the chase but they can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!

Solo

Chorus
They can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!
They jump to the chase but they can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!
They can’t catch me! No nananana no
So they’re tryin’ to plant me!
They jump to the chase but they can’t catch me! No nananana no
They can’t catch me!

Yeah!!!!
