Bio

“Charismatic, captivating, inspirational, refreshing.” These are just a few of the adjectives that have been used to describe the songs and performance of award-winning singer/songwriter, Courtney C. Patty. Courtney C. Patty began performing at an early age, both in the classical and contemporary realms. After years of independent songwriting came the decision to record her first release, Seasons Change (1998), which she describes as a “leap of faith and a labor of love.” Shortly thereafter, she released her sophomore effort, Waiting on the Universe (2000). I Am (2002) was hailed as a more mature and intimate work, exposing her capabilities as a writer and performer as they never had been before.

And now Courtney C. Patty is pleased to highlight Silhouette of Me (2004), an EP with previously unreleased songs. Silhouette of Me features the work of Steve Bowman (Counting Crows) on drums and Mike Godwin (Noelle Hampton) on bass, was mixed by Tom Schick (Shawn Colvin, Roseanne Cash, Ryan Adams, Soul Coughing) and was produced by Jerry Becker (Rob Hotchkiss, Tom Luce).

As her songwriting and performance mature, she continues to be met with well-earned successes:
• She has been included on a limited-edition release of independent artists being presented at an international music conference (The Netherlands) by gold-record producer, Cookie Marenco.
• She has received five Best Performance awards from the West Coast Songwriters’ Association.
• She has won six Best Song awards from the West Coast Songwriters’ Association. Two for “I Am,” two for “Wild Orchids,” one for “Wash Over Me” and one for “April Shower.”
• She is a performing member of Indiegrrl, and is being featured as one of the country’s up and coming female guitarists on Lady Six String, Collected Sounds, The Best Female Musicians, and numerous other sites dedicated to women in music.
• She has shared the stage with national acts including Box Set, Shana Morrison (Van’s daughter), and Wilshire.
• She has been a musical guest on Kron 4’s Stand-UP, It’s Thursday NIte! (San Francisco Bay Area) and Good Morning Arizona; and on numerous local, cable-access television broadcasts.
• She has been asked by Kelvyn Guitars to endorse the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. SCGC has built a custom Studio Model H expressly for her; it can be seen at shows.
• She was named a finalist in the Maryhill Winery Amphitheatre 2003 singer/songwriter competition (Goldendale, WA), and came in fourth at the 2004 event.
• She was one of two artists selected by Prince Productions (San Francisco, CA) to play the east coast leg of the 2004 Listen In Tour (an annual event featuring emerging women in music).
• “Your Little Girl” has been named a 2004 Song of the Year by the West Coast Songwriters’ Association.

Courtney C. Patty tours and performs regularly in the San Francisco area when she is not on the road.
