Still working on that hot first release.

Some artists know where to find magic.  Some artists know how to create it. Coury Palermo knows how to do both. On his 2011, solo, full length debut, the broken way we love, we hear his truly unique critique of the world around him and we are reminded that music is simply more than something that plays in the background, it is something that adds to who we are as people.

When Coury was 13, he found his moms76 Epiphone Sunburst guitar and never looked back.  He began arranging vocals at age 15, a skill that has served him well on his solo and collaborative projects.  Coury's, "the broken way we love" ranges from the confessional waiting for daylight to the lovers lullaby of hush, a journey into a relationship finished. As evidenced by the deeply personal, youre all I know, he is not afraid to talk about the uncomfortable moments in life.

The records title, the broken way we love, indicates that there is something here to not walk too quickly past.   The songs are about the aftermath of a relationship and the moments one now sees clearly as distance loans her perspective.  This record explores it all and then fights to make peace with it.  A journey we can each relate to in very personal ways.

As a songwriter, Coury has partnered with an eclectic range of writers. Recent collaborations include, Jennifer Paige, Philip Zach (Arrows and Sound), Tim Kellet (Simply Red), Morgan Page, Justin Elswick (Sleepthief), Ian Pai & Michael Cheever of Fischerspooner/Avan Lava, Andy Chase (Ivy), Ken Harrison (Wild Strawberries) and Sam Bisbee.  Additionally, Coury is part of a pop/rock duo Paige & Palermo with singer/songwriter Jennifer Paige as well as the new electronic pop outfit, a thousand fires with collaborator Philip Zach (debut album rebelloverliar due in 2014).

In short, Coury believes as Berthold Auerbach did, Music washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life.

Coury will release his next full length album with collaborator Philip Zach under the name a thousand fires in the summer of 2014.  This deeply personal collection of songs picks up where tbwwl left off, offering a hopeful look at the past two years of his journey as a songwriter and world observer.

The project will debut as a collection of 3/3 song EP's.  "rebel" will be released digitally in January, "lover" in March and "liar" in May.  In June, the nine songs will be joined by two additional tracks and released both digitally and physically as the eleven song, full-length collection, rebelloverliar. / / / /
