Biography

Craig has been playing piano in bands for years covering every genre from country though to punk. He is now a recognised producer of songs for T.V, Film and radio. www.craigfraserband.com

Who is Craig Fraser?

Now there's a good question. The answer depends on who you ask and which songs you hear.

Take some Paul Kelly, The Go Betweens, Pink Floyd, Nick Cave & Deep Purple. Put them all in a blender and you start to get some idea.

You might get a catchy 3.5 minute country-pop song or you might get a full 13 minute 3 part epic.

Scaled down melodic piano or big riff 70's guitar, if the song fits, play it.

With a handful of faithful band members and friends as well as the odd session muso the lineup keeps rotating but always continues to produce fresh sounds. Recent double CD "Sometimes" has just been completed. Second album Craig Fraser & the Death Bed Regrets is due for release shortly.

A brief list of reviews relating to the CD sometimes are:

"There’s a confidence and swagger to the songwriting, and a lyric that wouldn’t be out of place in Robert Forster’s notepad. Good stuff. " June 2007 Chris Taylor TripleJ Unearthed and The Chaser War on Everything.

"Very impressed by your CD. A instant addition to my playlist." Lindsay Montgomery Radio 2SEA FM

I like all of what you have done, especially the mixture of genres – Scary and Reason certainly make me think of Pink Floyd in the melodic harmony of the voices! Valley of Love and Sometime are dreamy songs – you are good! I have chosen Mood Swing and Strange Day (it amuses me greatly) for this week but I know I’ll be using the CDs regularly and I’ll recommend it around the station" Mary Conlon 89.1 Triple B FM 8CCCFM

"I have played it several times since it's arrival at various timeslots " I particularily like tracks 'If I ever Say' & 'Tell me Friend' from the first disc - your voice and delivery reminds me of the sound of Nick Cave (a compliment ). Joanne McGinnis Music Co-ordinator 8CCCFM 102.1

Glow Worm

Written By: Craig Fraser

The other day my good friend
Looked over her shoulder
Just to keep a check on
What it was behind her

There were 25 years of monsters
Breathing down her neck now
She though they were back home
Locked up on the closet

Now there’s this slimy green thing
Calls itself my envy
As the day go by yeah
I think he wants to eat me

There's a wolf that's called desire
He Get stronger every day
As I’m getting older
He gets a little more of my brain

Some days I go forward
Feels like going backwards
I feel my self just drifting
Down somestormy drain

And there a little glow worm
Calls himself my future
Went to pay a visit
But he sent me right back here

Scary

Written By: Craig Fraser

Out there
In the Valley
There’s a man
He says he knows me

He says he’s seen me
He says he’s been me
And he can anticipate
my next move

Now I don’t want to get
I cant afford to get
To familiar
With someone who scares me like that.

Down A hallway
Behind some door
There’s a darkened room
With a girl inside

She says she had me once
And she wants me again
but if she ever gets hold she wont let go

Now I don’t want to get
I cant afford to get
To familiar
With someone who scares me like that.

There’s a girl I knew
She had such a heart
It was like nothing you’d felt before

Until one day
She poured it onto the ground
& I couldn’t do nothing but step away.

Now I don’t want to get
I cant afford to get
To familiar
With someone who scares me like that.

Reason

Written By: Craig Fraser

If there’s ever a reason why I’m freezing, leaving needing its just you.
Its just you

If there’s ever just one thing why I can sing I got clipped wings they're from you
They're from you

Hope I not to late
To sing the songs of hate
You can call it spite
I wnt you out of my life

And you seem to wonder why I thunder blunder get snowed right under you
That’s just you.

You still wonder why, why I cry and sigh and lie but woulldn't die for you
Not for you

Hope it's not to late
To sing the songs I hate
You can call it spite
Thank God you out of my life at last.

Strange Day

Written By: Craig Fraser

I can't believe today
The world seemed to turn in the opposite way
And all the people I see
Are turning out to be so goddamn ugly
And the only thing which I care
Is on the side of the bus stop modelling underwear

At it’s a strange strange day
Such a strange strange day

Started Drinking Gin
Three hours went by before I new where I’d been
Went for coffee in town
It was just across the road but I stayed their four hours
I came out at nine
It was the first day of winter but incredibly mild

And it’s a strange strange day
Such a strange strange day

I said I get so intense
With almost everything that I do
She said try to relax now boy
You should know I’m a Scorpio too
She said your going to be just fine
I’d only just met her b she kissed me good night

And it’s a strange strange day
Such a strange strange day

And now I’ve come home
Empty mail box, nobody wrote
Got paint splattered stairs
So dark and dingy but nobody cares
Its been one hell of a week
Just as well there's still beer in the fridge

And it’s a strange strange day
Such a strange strange day

Valley of Love

Written By: Craig Fraser

They walk so easy together.
You’d almost think they were
One and the same
And the sun shines all day
As they walk
Down in the valley of love.

Its taken so long
To reach this moment
But time doesn’t seem
To matter any more
As they stand at the door
Looking down.
Down to the valley of love.

There’s so many things
within they’re reach now
as a whole new world has
slowly opened up
and there no better place to
build your house
than down in the valley of love.

They walk so easy together.
You’d almost think they were
One and the same
And the sun shines all day
As they walk
Down in the valley of love.

Meanwhile Tree

Written By: Craig Fraser

He sits there so patiently
Flowers grow under his feet
He sits there as the world goes round
Changing all his green to grey and brown
Now and then a car goes past Saying wont you join in
Or is it all to fast
Is it to fast
He said don’t you worry about me
I’m fine in my meanwhile tree

Now you count every step
Every cent and every breath
You cane become quite obsessed With the size of your TV set
You can just run around
With your face looking at the Ground
When everything you could need
Grows here on this tree
So for now I’ll just sit right here
I’ll make a move when the coast is clear

Mood Swing

Written By: Craig Fraser

Envy & greed
I pay no heed
To jealousy
I’m full on into my mood swing
Little old mood swing

Hate & love
I’ve had enough
Spit & cough
Choke on blood in a mood swing
Crazy old mood swing

Get out of my way
It’s a busy day
Got nothing to say
I’ll kill you in on of my mood swings
Full on mood swing

When I’m up I’m fine
But then I start to slide
There’s no where to hide
As I go blind in a mood swing
Just another mood swing.

I'm Lost

Written By: Craig Fraser

Met a man on the train
Asked him how I might get there
Turn right and right again
And if you pray you might get there

I'm Lost I'm Lost
Why don't you come and get me
I'm Lost I'm lost
I need you Lord to protect me

I've been wlaking around for hours
Still don't know which way to go
Can't go forward and I can't go backwards
My footprints lost in the snow.

I'm Lost I'm Lost
Why don't you come and get me
I'm Lost I'm lost
I need you Lord to protect me

My friends they went home
and now they're nowhere in sight
I've been walking around for hours & Jesus Christ I'm afraid of the night
I'm Lost I'm Lost
Why don't you come and get me
I'm Lost I'm lost
I need you Lord to protect me

If I Ever Say

Written By: Craig Fraser

Now if I ever say
I need you
Then I need you
Need you right now

And if I ever say
I want you
I want you
I want you right now

But if I ever say
I’ll Find you
Then I’ll find you
Some where somehow
