Stand Tall America

Stand Tall America
Words and music by Craig Haft

Verse
While the world is turned upside down
Young women and men fight for our freedom
We stand united and we hold our head up high
Because we are strong because we’re American

We praise the heroes we have lost
While terror strikes our heart
But our soul never waivers
It just grows stronger every day, every way

Chorus
Stand Tall America
Your spirit lights the day
Stand tall America
Your stars and your stripes
will always shine bright
We can stand tall, as Americans

Verse
If your children ask you why
So many people have to die
You hold them around
And tell them everything’s going to be all right,
because we’re strong, yes we’re strong

Chorus

There’s a price that we must pay
For the freedom we embrace
We’ll stand united in a world forever changed
And we’ll watch our children grow
In this place that we call home
And nothing’s going to take that dream away

Chorus

Your stars and your stripes will always shine bright
We won’t take a fall; we’ve answered the call
We’ll always stand tall as Americans

Mr Bluesman

Mr. Bluesman
Words and music by Craig Haft

Sitting in a blues club late one night
Sipping a few yeah I was feeling all right
The music slaps me in the face and I can’t sit still
Suddenly I’m standing on the stage
Singing along while the blues band played
I realize I’ve finally found my way home again

Funny how a single moment in time
Can change your whole direction
I’ll keep that snapshot in my mind
And I’ll hold on to it

And I owe it all to you
Mr. Bluesman
You put that music back into my life
And I want to thank you
And I owe it all to you
Mr. Bluesman
You shoed me how to dream again
And I want to thank you
For saving my life
Mr. Bluesman you saved my life

When the music stopped bluesman smiled at me
And he slowly walked my way
He took me around and he said to me,
“Boy you’ve got to keep the faith”
Just that moment I realized
My life had been one big compromise
Still so much I can give to this world
And I’ve still got time

Funny how easy it is in life
To take the path of least resistance
But if I keep the faith I know
I can still find my peace

Chorus

Two years have passed and I find my self
Sitting in a blues club leading a band
I may not be rich but inside I feel like a billionaire

Funny how a single moment in time
can change your life forever
I’ll keep that snapshot in my mind
And I’ll never let it go

Chorus
