Crash The Machine, with its new album of guitar driven, melodic and hook-laden songs, goes Hi-Fi with their latest self-titled release. Think of Jimmy Eat World's tour bus colliding with the Foo Fighters' on their way to a War-era U2 concert. This is modern rock that matters!

Biography

ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM

Crash The Machine, with its new album of guitar driven, melodic and hook-laden songs, goes Hi-Fi with their latest self-titled release.

In late 2006 Crash The Machine connected with producer Tomas Costanza who produced the band’s second album, which was recorded in North Hollywood, California in March 2007.

“We now have an album that competes on par with major label releases,” said Crash The Machine lead singer Jon Murray. “Tomas brought to the band a very disciplined approach to recording that ultimately achieved what we were searching to capture on our second album -- big guitars, amazing drums, bass and vocals, and the energy we generate when playing live. Tomas is one of the top 10 up-and-coming producers in the country, and we were lucky enough to build a solid relationship with him right from the start. We were open to perfecting our songs and musicianship under his direction because we knew that he understood our vision as a band. What we achieved was amazing.”

The band is already starting to rip and tear its way into the major league with this album. Be part of the Crash The Machine experience now while they can still personally reply to fan mail!

THE HISTORY

Crash The Machine is a band with roots in 1989 when the Murray Brothers (Craig, Eric and Jon) relocated to Sacramento, California for the specific purpose of creating a band together. A friend of Craig's introduced Brian Crane to the brothers, and the first incarnation of these four was born.

The band released a few EPs and played non-stop, receiving excellent reviews from local and regional publications as well as favorable reviews from record industry executives and Billboard Magazine. They were nominated for Best Modern Rock Band at Sacramento's 1st Annual SAMMIE Awards and played with acts such as Agent Orange, the Dynatones, and Cake. The band broke up in the mid-1990's.

CUT TO 2004

At the request of mutual friends in the Sacramento music scene, the members of Crash The Machine were asked to reunite for a show benefiting area homeless shelters. The band got back together, rehearsed non-stop, and blew the crowd away. The four bandmates sat backstage having a celebration drink and asked themselves, "Why did we ever stop doing this?"

In 2005 Crash The Machine built their own recording studio then wrote, recorded, mixed and produced their debut album, 4 a.m., which has received airplay around the world and generated fans in over 50 countries and in every US state. The band also manages their own record/publishing company, Crash the Machine Music.

I Want It All

Written By: Jon Murray

I Want it All
-----------------

I’m on my way
To find the man I used to be
In this place
Of hopeful truth and broken dreams
Come with me
See the things that I will see
I’m on my way

‘Cause I want it
I need it
I want it
I want it all

Down this road
Some where stuck I’m in between
Of what I am
And the thing that I could be
But I will fly
In the face of disbelief
I’m on my way

‘Cause I want it
I need it
I want it
I want it all

Break:
Oh Hollywood, oh Hollywood
Oh Hollywood, oh Hollywood

‘Cause I want it
I need it
I want it
I want it all

I want it all

Push Me Down (I'm Alive)

Written By: Jon Murray

Push Me Down
---------------------

You - you sacrificed for me
You - the only light I see
I - I’d give it all for you
I - there’s nothing I won’t do

I – You know I’m alive
I – You know I’m alive

You - you suffered for my love
You - my stars and sky above
I - I feel it in my pain
I - have nothing but my shame

I – You know I’m alive
I – You know I’m alive

(Breakdown)
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
You know I’m Alive
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
You know I’m Alive!
You know I’m alive

Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down
Take me in the water push me down… You know I’m Alive!

Spark

Written By: Jon Murray

Spark
----------

You lie awake, it’s 4 am
You dream a world that should have been
Some how, something’s going to break
You’re not sure how much more that you can take
If you need a friend
I’ll be there for you…

It’s o.k.
It’s alright
I will be
Your spark tonight
I’ll be your spark

If you need to rest your head
Just lay it down, enough’s been said
If you need a friend…

It’s o.k.
It’s alright
I will be
Your spark tonight
I’ll be your spark

Break:
If you feel that all hope is gone
I will be your spark

It’s o.k.
It’s alright
I will be
Your spark tonight
It’s o.k.
It’s alright
I will be
Your spark tonight
I’ll be your spark
I’ll be your spark

You Won't Feel

Written By: Jon Murray

You Won’t Feel
-----------------------

There’s a light
A light in the tunnel
And there’s a feeling
That fear is the devil
There’s a sky
That looks like rain
There’s a sky
It looks like rain

There’s an eye
It watches me
And there’s a ship
But it’s lost at sea
There’s a mind
Communication
There’s a passion
Disorientation
It’s in your heart

You won’t feel
You won’t feel

There’s a light
A light in the tunnel
And there’s a feeling
That fear is the devil
There’s a sky
That looks like rain
There’s a sky
It looks like rain

You won’t feel
You won’t feel

La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
You won’t feel
You won’t feel
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la

Buried

Written By: Eric Murray

Buried
-------------

Don’t call me
To tell me
You’re on your way home
You run – always in a hurry

Me and you
Two worlds collide
You and me
I’m buried
Buried in your love

Me, I’m just
Sitting here
One more drink down
You run – always is a hurry
A goddamn hurry

Me and you
Two worlds collide
You and me
I’m buried
Buried in your love

You hang your love up
Your life’s over now
Me, I call
My drunken worlds still slurred

Me and you
Two worlds collide
You and me
I’m buried
Buried in your love
Me and you
Two worlds collide
You and me
I’m buried
Buried in your love

Hey There, Cellophane

Written By: Jon Murray

Hey There, Cellophane
----------------------------------

You’ve got me
In the palm of your hands
I see right through you
So get away…

Hey there cellophane
I see through all your games
You’re driving me insane
But you won’t get the best of me
I see you’re cellophane…

I wonder
How I was so blind
I see right through you
So get away…

Hey there cellophane
I see through all your games
You’re driving me insane
But you won’t get the best of me
I see you’re cellophane…

Hey there cellophane
I see through all your games
You’re driving me insane
But you won’t get the best of me
I see you’re cellophane…

I see you’re cellophane
Cellophane

Bite My Tongue

Written By: Jon Murray

Bite My Tongue
--------------------

You call to say you’re alone
But I hear you drip and moan
You say, you say, you say you own

You’ve got to find your way
You’ve got to find your way
But I bite my tongue…

I feel your need through the phone
Your hands they touch and they roam
You say, you say, you say you own

You’ve got to find your way
You’ve got to find your way
But I bite my tongue…

You call to say you’re alone
But I hear you drip and moan
You say, you say, you say you own

You’ve got to find your way
You’ve got to find your way
‘Cause I bite my tongue, bite my tongue, bite my tongue
I bite my tongue, bite my tongue, bite my tongue

I bite my tongue…

I Don't Understand

Written By: Jon Murray

I Don't Understand
------------------------

I don’t understand
How you treat this land
I won’t pay that price
For your money

Misery
When I don’t understand this world
Yeah, I don’t understand

I won’t pay that price
To follow in your vice
You can’t trade my dream
For your delusions

No I won’t pay that price
Following in your vice
I won’t, I won’t, I won’t, I won’t
I won’t do it

Misery
When I don’t understand this world
Yeah, I don’t understand

Misery
When I don’t understand this world
Yeah, I don’t understand

I don’t understand
I don’t understand

Alice

Written By: Jon Murray

Alice
--------

Well, tick tock this beating clock
See your world it comes to this for you
When you picked it up, you shot it up
Now your hands are cold
Your lips ice blue… ice blue

And it’s my love song for you
Your world breaks in two
My love song for you
So I’ll sing it sweet
Just for you

Tick tock this beating heart
See your world – it smoothers you
When you picked it up, you shot it up
Now your hands are cold
Your lips ice blue… ice blue

And it’s my love song for you
Your world breaks in two
My love song for you
So I’ll sing it sweet
Just for you

And it’s my love song for you
Your world breaks in two
My love song for you
So I’ll sing it sweet
Just for you

Tick tock, this beating heart
Tick tock, your beating heart
Well tick – tock – tick – tock – I said tick tock
Tick – tock – tick – tock – tick – tock
Stop

Two Worlds (2007)

Written By: Jon Murray

Two Worlds (2007)
------------------------

There’s a place
Where love always survives
Far beyond this world we know
Somewhere sacred where we’re color blind
Stripped of hate and violence

And if you see yourself in me
Would you follow me?
And if I see myself in you
Would I follow too?

I hear your words
And still I wonder why
We choose to live and die this way
Pretending we have so much more to gain
Than the life you gained for me

And if you see yourself in me
Would you follow me?
And if I see myself in you
Would I follow too?

And if you see yourself in me
Would you follow me?
And if I see myself in you
Would I follow too?
