"Originality at Its Best!"

You can write your own ticket with this sound. You have a definite style all your own... The song (Love, Peace, Beauty) has a good hook and the Performance was done with a passion that the listener can feel. - GarageBand.com Review

"This Four Piece has Future!"

This Sacramento, California band's music is easy on the ear, fun and melodic. Crash the Machine's string-based (guitar) songs are fervent and frank. I am sure that this four piece has a future. - BonaFideStudio - London

"Really Original!"

This ("Two Worlds") is a really original, entertaining song. The Egyptian backing tune and the fuzzy guitars just fit perfectly and hold the music together.

All the tracks (on 4 a.m.) sound different and there's always a gut busting solo in there somewhere! - R*E*P*E*A*T Online - UK

"Sweeping Melodies and Big Choruses"

Crash the Machine from Sacramento, California specialise in that strain of American rock that is peculiar to the United States, purveyed by the likes of Matchbox 20. It doesn't rock hard enough to be hard rock, it isn't mellow enough to be soft rock and it isn't spikey enough to be alt rock.

It's music based on sweeping melodies and big choruses. The band themselves say it is about re-embracing our humanity and thinking for our self.

It veers on the edge of being indie but manages to pull back from that dreaded brink with good tunes, best demonstrated on "Two Worlds", "Better (If You're Still)". They've also taken the time to try and come up with trite free lyrics, which is refreshing in the moon, June, spoon world we currently occupy... it is definitely promising and well worth a listen. - Zeitgeist - Scotland/UK

"Crash The Machine Signs Publishing Deal for"

Crash The Machine signed a 2-song publishing deal with Tonic Song Library (NYC) on May 27th. The A&R lead from Tonic has been interested in the band for some time, and we wrapped up the contractual end of things this past month.

The two songs selected come from our debut album, 4 a.m. Chosen for placement in movies, tv, multimedia/video games and advertisments are the tracks "Love, Peace, Beauty" and "Burn for You."

This is a great moment for us as we have always desired our music to be placed in film, tv and other multimedia venues. Signing this deal with Tonic allows us to have solid and proven representation of our music to see that vision realized. It also creates some outstanding momentum as we begin launching our new album to the entertainment industry later this month!

About Tonic

"What an amazing band."

The whole album was tasty. If you like Cold Play, Matchbox 20, or U2 you must get this CD! - Len - Recent buyer of Crash the Machine Album, 4 a.m.

"Tangent Sunset Review"

Crash the Machine has an optimistic sound, without getting too sweet. The album 4am tunefully rocks with meaningful lyrics in songs such as "Two Worlds", "Love, Peace, Beauty," and "Better (If You're Still)." It has more of an indie feel than an industry feel, which is another plus because it's refreshing. Guitar sounds range from tingling to
smashing. For a moody alternative to everything else out there listen to "See the World Bleed."

""Love, Peace, Beauty" Review"

"This song moves forward with a ferociousness."

"The vocals bring a passion into this song and support the lyrics very well... The instrumentation is powerful and keeps the listener engaged." - TAXI

ABOUT THE ALBUM

Crash The Machine's album of guitar driven, melodic and hook-laden songs, goes Hi-Fi with their self-titled release.

In late 2006 Crash The Machine connected with producer Tomas Costanza who produced the band’s second album, which was recorded in North Hollywood, California in March 2007.

“We now have an album that competes on par with major label releases,” said Crash The Machine lead singer Jon Murray. “Tomas brought to the band a very disciplined approach to recording that ultimately achieved what we were searching to capture on our second album -- big guitars, amazing drums, bass and vocals, and the energy we generate when playing live. Tomas is one of the top 10 up-and-coming producers in the country, and we were lucky enough to build a solid relationship with him right from the start. We were open to perfecting our songs and musicianship under his direction because we knew that he understood our vision as a band. What we achieved was amazing.”

The band is already starting to rip and tear its way into the major league with this album. Be part of the Crash The Machine experience now while they can still personally reply to fan mail!

THE HISTORY

Crash The Machine is a band with roots in 1989 when the Murray Brothers (Craig, Eric and Jon) relocated to Sacramento, California for the specific purpose of creating a band together. A friend of Craig's introduced Brian Crane to the brothers, and the first incarnation of these four was born.

The band released a few EPs and played non-stop, receiving excellent reviews from local and regional publications as well as favorable reviews from record industry executives and Billboard Magazine. They were nominated for Best Modern Rock Band at Sacramento's 1st Annual SAMMIE Awards and played with acts such as Agent Orange, the Dynatones, and Cake. The band broke up in the mid-1990's.

CUT TO 2004

At the request of mutual friends in the Sacramento music scene, the members of Crash The Machine were asked to reunite for a show benefiting area homeless shelters. The band got back together, rehearsed non-stop, and blew the crowd away. The four band-mates sat backstage having a celebration drink and asked themselves, "Why did we ever stop doing this?"

In 2005 Crash The Machine built their own recording studio then wrote, recorded, mixed and produced their debut album, 4 a.m., which has received airplay around the world and generated fans in over 50 countries and in every US state. The band also manages their own record/publishing company, Crash the Machine Music.
