Pop/R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Christopher Ray (also known as C-Ray) was raised in Kokomo, Indiana and currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As a child, C-Ray would watch his father play the piano everyday. He would always climb up next to his dad and see how he would make sound. Continuing to be interested with the piano, C-Ray started playing the songs that his father played, by ear. Day by day, he became more and more familiar with different chords, and all the diverse ways you could play the piano. Eventually, the piano would become the biggest part to the success of Chris Ray.

Chris first entered the music scene in 2000 with the now-defunct groundbreaking rap label I.B.R. / Rawthentic Records with Knightmare, A-Bility, and S.O.N. In 2004 he signed a recording contract with Indianapolis based independent music production company 3Duff Entertainment, but the label went bankrupt and his music career was in remission. Despite the short-lived success of the label Chris still believes it wasn't a bad experience but a "learning experience".

In March 2007, C-Ray signed an exclusive deal with music mogul imprint UrbanLink Music Group (ULMG), where he was offered a label deal and is now the C.E.O. of his own music and career. "Chris is a talent that you can't create or manufacture, he's a natural born musician", says Iyron Davis president of ULMG.

C-Ray is no longer signed or affiliated with ULMG, and has branched as just an Independent Artist/Producer/Songwriter.
