"Melody over madness"

Local rock band CRAZED GUMMIE BEAR set the stage alight on an otherwise mediocre night with their excellent pop-rock stylings, comparable to Ame-rock-an bands Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20. Front man Mike Finley's amazing vocal abilities and lyrics punch through the excellent partnership of drummer Joe Catton and bassist Peter Griffin (not the character in Family Guy, honest) and work perfectly with guitarist Jon Hawkins' crunching grooves.

The stage seems like a second to them as they perform several sing-along anthemic power-rockers and slow it down for some astonishing acoustic numbers, and the crowd eat it up. - Burfordian

"Be it rock or pop, we loved it"

...heading off the show were local boys crazed gummie bear. Their songs and presence added a nice soft yet compelling listening experience, and I must say it was a shame after they left after their final song "Something real" (which everyone in the crowd seemed to know.) - Bampton beam

"Local reviews"

Mike Finley's CRAZED GUMMIE BEAR stunned the crowd last night. It was hard to believe that the guys on stage were not a signed band - they seemed perfectly natural on stage, even helping an injured "mosher" back to his feet during one of the harder songs "Take away the strain", like pure professionals.

The highlight of the evening was Mike and Jon's bare-bones acoustic version of tear-jerker "Your last breath", and by the end of it the air was filled with glowing lighters. - The block

Bio

Crazed Gummie Bear are a band formed in 2002 in the heart of Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom.

Playing their first gig after essentially four hours practice and without a drummer, the band showed a level of potential that needed to be nurtured by rehearsal after rehearsal, and constantly writing new material. With each gig, the band have become more and more confidant and gaining more and more support, even coming second in a Battle of the band's contest, which won the band many fans.

Crazed Gummie Bear have gone through several line-up changes since their formation: Luke Middleton and Sam Turner had brief stints as drummers, and Pete Griffin was replaced temporarily by bassist Alex Giles, and the guys have now finally found a line-up they all feel completely comfortable with.

The band manages to draw from each member's individual influences and tastes - bands such as Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, The Calling and Vertical Horzon - to create a truly unique style of pop-rock music that can either energise your spirit or pluck at your heart strings (as clichéd as that sounds).

The powering vocals, pounding drums, ringing bass and crunching guitar make sure the band's songs stick in your head and get right at your soul, and the band's magnetic stage-presence will mean that Crazed Gummie Bear are a band that you won't forget.

Don't let the ridiculous name throw you; Crazed Gummie Bear are a band that take their music very seriously, and hope to bring their music to as many people as possible.
