Crazy Man's Basement

BandRockAcoustic

Crazy Man's Basement plays a melodic brand of "acousta-lectric rock." Live shows feature interactive and energetic sets of original music. With a sonic edge reminiscent of U2, but incorporating a strong acoustic influence, CMB has been billed as "the next Dave Matthews Band."

Biography

Crazy Man's Basement began as two friends, and fellow high school teachers, spent their free time writing, playing and recording live music together in the basement of their high school. "Real. Roots. Rock." was born in the form of an acoustic guitar and vocal duo. With the addition of bass and drums, Crazy Man's Basement has since developed into a highly successful and popular rock quartet featuring both acoustic and electric styles.  Quickly gaining notoriety in Southeastern Wisconsin, and on the internet, CMB's first single, "Everything," has received airplay on many radio stations around the midwest and three songs from their debut CD "There and Back" have climbed the indie charts nationally at both Cornerband.com and Garageband.com. Joining the ranks of other successful bands from Wisconsin such as, The BoDeans, The Violent Femmes, and Arrested Development, Crazy Man's Basement won the 2005 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award for CD/Recording of the Year and also received a nomination for 2005 Pop/Adult Group of the Year following 2004's New Artist of the Year nomination. Work has already begun on their follow-up CD and additional tour dates are being added regularly. Good things continue to happen for CMB in 2006 and 2007, including live television (Todya's TMJ4) and radio appearances (102.1 The Scene with Brian Kramp), significant print media coverage- including being featured as one of the best new unsigned artists in America by XM Radio’s R>A>D>A>R Report, and two more WAMI nominations– including another nomination for 2006 Pop/Adult Artist of the Year and the 2006 award for Best Artist Website. Now headlining shows at nearly all major festivals, colleges and clubs throughout Wisconsin and the upper Midwest, Crazy Man's Basement has become well-known for performing high energy, interactive sets of their "acousta-lectric" rock for a constantly growing legion of loyal fans.  CMB has also made it an annual tradition to support worthy organizations in Wisconsin, making charitable appearances, as well as donating significant proceeds from CD and merchandise sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Real. Roots. Rock. -- You can't get where you're going, if you don't know where you've been.

Everything

Written By: Crazy Man's Basement

EVERYTHING

She comes in every morning at ten
I pour her a cup of coffee and then
I look lovingly into her eyes
She doesn't notice me.

I try to find words to say to you
My mouth freezes shut nothing I can do
But stare impaired as she walks away
Just ask me what I want and I'll say

Everything our bodies in motion
Everything a private delight
Everything sweet love and devotion
Everything you're all mine tonight.

When she moves I see warm rays of sunshine
Day or night doesn't matter at all
Perfect lips stained the color of red wine
Tongue twisting a soft southern drawl.

In dreams you seem perfect for me girl
No one's finer in the whole wide world
Too weak can't speak maybe she would stay
Just ask her what she wants and she'd say

Everything our bodies in motion
Everything a private delight
Everything sweet love and devotion
Everything you're all mine tonight.

Lights off and the blankets turned down
She smiles my legs tangled all around
Her body rising over mine
Ask us what we want and we'll say

Everything our bodies in motion
Everything a private delight
Everything sweet love and devotion
Everything you're all mine tonight.

Runaway

Written By: Crazy Man's Basement

RUNAWAY

Don't always go where you want to go
Can't always see who you want to see
Rich man, poor man or in between
But there's always the runaway

Take a deep breath and disappear
Into the ghosts that linger there
In each room like a memory
Losing the time you runaway

Back to the place her smiling face
Safe from the world around me
Eyes shining bright like the sky at night
Her loving arms surround me.

Call you up from your hiding place
When you speak it's my saving grace
A quiet house when you're not around
Take it all in and runaway

You're feeling too good for it to last
Kicking yourself you fight the past
It's not where you are but who you're with
Take your last chance to runaway

Back to the place her smiling face
Safe from the world around me
Eyes shining bright like the sky at night
Her loving arms surround me.

Every fret
Every inch of you I forget
You appear
It all comes back so very clear
Sight unseen
Fulfilling each and every dream
In my mind
We've all the time in the world

Back to the place her smiling face
Safe from the world around me
Eyes shining bright like the sky at night
Her loving arms surround me.
