Bio

The Educated Voice is more than just a name, it's a lifestyle. It's a voice that speaks with inspiration, passion, relevance, wisdom and empowerment for the millennial generation. This "voice" is for individuals around the world, expressing themselves through creativity and performing arts.

Raised by Jamaican parents in Brooklyn, New York, Tevonne "Creative Boy TEV" Hemmans found his balance under the wings of a disciplinary mother and mentoring father. TEV's roots can be traced back to music at an early age, growing up in the studio with an uncle as a producer and another uncle as a manager. During this period, TEV was mentored and groomed into a phenomenal artist and businessman, learning the in's and out's of the music industry and applying them to his independent endeavors.

In 2008, at the age of 16, TEV created a t-shirt line with a unique cartoonish design and labeled 'Creative Boys Culture' underneath it. A movement was born. TEV gathered his schoolmates and neighborhood friends to form a clique called Creative Boys Culture (CBC). His intentions were to get his friends, that were in danger with the community and close to trouble with the law, to focus on perfecting their talents and making something of it. It did just that. That same year, TEV landed a televised segment on BET’s Rap City “Spit Ya Game” wearing the self branded t-shirt, gaining exposure in his community and borough.

In 2010, TEV released a single and music video/commercial pitch for his song "BBM Mail", hoping to catch the attention of Blackberry. The video went viral through social media, getting 10,000+ views on the video and 20,000+ downloads on the song. Later that year, T.E.V seized yet another opportunity and landed a televised performance on BET’s 106 & Park ‘Teen Hip Hop Showcase’; where he competed against now underground-popular Hip Hop artist Dizzy Wright. The recording of the episode was uploaded to his YouTube account gaining 50,000+ views but later taken down by BET for copyright infringement purposes. But that didn't hinder the buzz that quickly rising.

In 2011, Creative Boys Culture was later developed into an organization with a mission to spread social awareness, youth empowerment and entrepreneurialism. This idea was evoked while the young creative thinker and a colleague gathered in his dorm room to expand the movement into a tour; reaching the hearts of adolescents facing challenges in schools and communities. Topics such as bullying, obesity and violence were covered during his visit.

All throughout 2012, the tour gained media exposure on national news stations, newspapers, blog features and has allowed TEV to perform at the world renowned Madison Square Garden arena in NYC. Later in 2013, TEV carried the movement across the nation to California, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Currently, TEV is set to release new projects every so often for a long time to come. For him, true positivity comes alive in his microphone. By being 'The Educated Voice' of the young creatives and aspiring successors, he inspires listeners to use their 'educated' voices to speak loud volumes through speech and creativity. The purpose isn't to just help them express themselves, but to also speak out to others that may need it too!
