Uncut indie rock diamond, Michael (girl) emanates celestial star power with rhapsodies of all original creature rock. Award winning songwriter/performer. "Seemingly risen from the sea-Parker..a bona-fide muse set to plant the seed of self expression to all of Earth's creatures." West Coast Performer

Biography

"Working with Michael is unlike anything I've ever experienced before. She has such an amazing passion, talent, and energy, that sometimes, just being in the same room with her can be overwhelming, though always inspiring. She is one of those rare individuals who literally exudes vitality and creativity through every pore of her body."
-John Standish, music producer & co-owner of City Tracks recording studio

"Michael's outgrown any one city's underground music scene. Her talents can vault her onto the national stage."
-Barry Wedgle, Exit Records

Headquartered in Austin, Michael (girl) Scott Parker is a creative force of nature, a "Joan of Art" oh wait, that's her guitars name! She has been a notable artistic presence in cities from East to West Coast and beyond infusing audiences with inspiration and collaborating with artists and musicians, realizing her talent as a visionary muse. She is a 4-time award-winning songwriter/artist/performer, who plays all her own instruments, choreographs her own dancers, has produced and released 4 albums of original imaginative rock! Her Musical incarnation Creature Rock is attracting a loyal fan base, perceiving Michael as an iconic creature who"proves a new goddess is in town, poised to join the female singer/songwriter elite."
-performermag.com

The Creature Sessions is MIchael's latest collection of unorthodox orchestrations of lyrical rock, intended to convey a message of self expression and growth of being.

Howling sultry lyrics layered with emotion and otherworldly meaning, she dances uncensored and unforgiving for her fans, her hands beating fearless control out of her six stringed companions and her Euthinethany covered painos. (see www.creaturerock.com for more about Euthinethany) Her passionate and somewhat peculiar genius is best witnessed at her intense live performances of authentic rock theatrics!

Her previous full-length studio recording, Naked, showcases her instrumental savoir-faire on guitar, bass, saxophone, cello, piano and percussion. She has been ascribed “Prince-like abilities”, being a formidable rock guitarist / multi-instrumentalist, as well as composer and performer. She captures the originality of David Bowie, the rock of PJ Harvey and Patti Smith, the sensuality of Tori Amos, the skill and intellect of predecessors such as Ani Difranco and Bob Dylan.

"Vocally, Parker evokes both Tori Amos’ sultry-smooth rasp and angelic moan, as on the stark chamber ballad “Toy Piano,” and Albini-era PJ Harvey on the title track [Naked] and “Mi Ute,” where she wields not much more than an electric guitar and a spitting banshee shriek."
-West Coast Performer magazine (June 2008)

Michael coined the genre "sensual creature rock." Her songs are a collage of modern-day rhapsodies and variations of sonatas- her own unique song forms. Her penchant for true imagination mixes together intricate canorous melodies, deep velvet vocals, and highly realized rhythm styles, pushing rock in an unorthodox way. Her unfamiliar approach draws in listeners to her emotional mastery of time signature and dynamics, music that is "scary-infectious."

Michael Scott Parker not only invented her own language (Euthinethany), but opened the Pink Elephant Recording studio, where she produces and collaborates with top flight musicians of her choice. The studio has moved with her from Colorado to San Francisco, to Austin, where she is currently mixing her much anticipated fifth album, Creature Sessions. Michael Creature has star power, in both the celebrity and the celestial sense. She inspires and mystifies audiences of diverse musical tastes, with her natural beauty and prolific imagination.

"This woman is not a want to be, She's a have to be!" -Robert Newton, legend jazz guitarist

“Michael Scott Parker sits on the cusp of a significant breakthrough. The question is will it be I the world of art, where she appears to have limitless abilities and a huge storehouse of ideas and inspirations, or will it be in the world of music, where she has already demonstrated considerable talents and perhaps even a stronger muse?”
- David Vickers, The Cheyenne Edition

-"Life is an art. Creation is my purpose, my purpose is a process, and my process is my product."- Michael Creature

Tiny Yellow Leaves

Written By: Michael Scott Parker

Break apart from yourself a while
feeling sort of bitter now
Maybe I'll see you around
the fields are rich with tiny yellow leaves
Lie deep, but don't lie, oh no, don't lie to me
I I I I I need time away
Look at all the tiny yellow leaves
Blackbird will you see me off
I need this time to get back on my feet
Quiet reefs - underwater peace for -
listening to my heart beat
heart beat
Heart beat slowing down now
heart beat slowing down now
heart beat slowing down now
look at all the tiny yellow leaves
Lie deep, but don't lie, oh no, don't lie to me
I I I I I need time away
Look at all the tiny yellow leaves
Shedding skins for new life.
Watching all the aspens waving,
bye bye bye b ba bye, yeah.
New winds moving,
moon cycles changing.
Aspens waving, bye bye bye bye
Lie deep, but don't lie to me.
I need time away.
Look at all the tiny yellow leaves.
Look at all the tiny yellow leaves.

Toy Piano

Written By: Michael Scott Parker

My little joy, my toy piano, play me my life back
Every note is a slideshow
Oh and I'm so happy, yeah yeah,
that you're staying here with me,
oh and I - I'm so happy you're not leaving, yeah.
Hey little girl, solution x-appeal,
hides you from what you thought
could have been something more real
Oh and Im so happy, yeah yeah,
that she's staying here with me,
oh and I - I'm so happy she's not leaving, yeah.
Look at the sun,
it's in the shape of a man.
the only one
doing the best that he can
Oh and I'm so happy, yeah yeah,
that he's staying here with me,
oh and I - I'm so happy he's not leaving, yeah.
My little joy, my toy piano.
Play me my life back

Let's Make Crazy

Written By: Michael Scott Parker

Hush and kiss me
you can eat me
I'm fat free, I taste like honey
I look real funny, I'm soft as a bunny
what am I?
Well, swirl with fire, power by the hour,
let's hear it for the effort,
I know you'll get it right,
I know you'll get it right.
Well, do you know me?
Yes! You know me
Beat beat, meet me,
a belly full of lightning
Let's make crazy,
follow me I'll lead the way
I said let's make crazy,
It's time to play -oooh!
Stay as long as you wish,
I'll be your favorite dish
Deep red cherries, love making faeries,
Well let's make crazy,
there's room for two,
I said let's make crazy,
I want to dance with you - oooh!
Well, do you know me?
Yes! You know me
Beat beat, meet me
a belly full of lightning
Let's make crazy,
follow me I'll lead the way
I said let's make crazy,
It's time to play -
Let's make crazy, there's room for two
I said let's make crazy,
I want to dance with you!
Open wide I'm coming right at you
swinging my hips from side to side
I said free your spirit!
It's whispering, but I can hear it
I said do you know me?
Yes! you know me
Beat beat, meet me
a belly full of lightning
Let's make crazy,
follow me I'll lead the way
I said let's make crazy,
it's time to play - oooh!
Now I'm naked as a jaybird
deciding my fate,
among the billowing eyes of a marketing mass
Hold my hand and pull me out
I want to dance with you
Show me light and pull my hair
I'm in a trance with you!
Do you know me?
Yes! You know me!
Beat beat, meet me
a belly full of lightning,
let's make crazy,
follow me I'll lead the way
I said let's make crazy,
it's time to play!

Natural to Me

Written By: Michael Scott Parker

When you were a little girl, you had great big eyes, they were full of surprises
Your consciousness resided in only the best, all you could possess
And every day you cut a piece off of your hair
Just to prove to the world that you were just another girl, emotional and scared
But you were ready to take on the world one song at a time and
You were always the last one out and the first one in line
You said, "I'm going to be the woman to change everyone's mind."

But I'm not sure they're ready for, ready for you now that you're strong enough.
And I'm not sure if there ready for, ready for women like us.
I'm not sure they're ready for a lust for life.
I'm not sure they're ready for, if they're ready for you or I.

Ahhhh Ahhhh Ahhh Ahhh

What is natural is writing by candlelight, talking all through the night, debating on what is right
What is natural is painting pink elephants and fighting with parents and being a nudist
What is natural is struggling with your beliefs and seeing the beauty when you thought there was none
What is natural is leaving your comfort zone - playing your fingers down to the bone.

I wanna do what's natural to me - yeah - I'm gonna do what's natural to me - yeah

I know just how you must feel. I too want what's real.
I'm frustrated by the doubt, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe in the power of now.

The world thinks they know it all, but they are just learning how to crawl.
Realize we're all at the beginning, on the same side of winning, learning the falsehoods of right and wrong
right and wrong

But I'm not sure they're ready for, ready for you now that you're strong enough.
And I'm not sure if there ready for, ready for women like us.
I'm not sure they're ready for a lust for life.
I'm not sure they're ready for, if they're ready for you or I.

I wanna do what's natural for me
You should do what's natural for you
I'm gonna do what's natural to me
I'm gonna do what's natural for me - too

Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh

Good with a Knife

Written By: Michael Scott Parker

Memories, make the present crash
Set up time, for us to last
Travel, clarity of mind, we'll pack our clothes later
Feel the music, percussion of life, rhythm and drums elate us
Inner frustration, but addicted to love

See how the world spins from above
What's the color of your elixir

Art's not a splendor, I make it up all the time
I think you know, so I sing it so you know
tempo sings too slow

Strange but true, I'm good with a knife
I carve my way through the message of life

See how the world spins from above
What's the color of your elixir?

Art's not a splendor, I make it up all the time
I think you know, so I sing it so you know, tempo rings too slow

Bridge instrumental

Art's not a splendor, I make it up all the time
I think you know, so I sing it so you know, tempo rings too slow
But that's not a crime
