"What music once was"

"This is what music once was. It was an art right? People had their own sound and people actually tried to write a song with a melody and spent time on the arrangments. This is one of those songs that remind me that there are still song writers out there that take pride in her work. " - GarageBand.com

"Gorgeous . . . simple . . . genius."

Like a gorgeous hybrid between Jewel and The Innocence Mission, Creeping Lovely has created an album that could put any and everyone to sleep with its delicate harmonies and tones. The simple combination of a guitar and a cello as a back up band was a stroke of genius. Miriam Barry’s vocals soar over the top of the music and give even more depth to this unfortunately lesser known band. - CDReviews.com

"A beautiful medley of sounds..."

Creeping Lovely commands their own unique sound, combining sweet, soft and delicate vocals with soft-spoken yet soulful acoustic guitar, accompanied by full and warm cello that reaches deep. A beautiful medley of sounds. - Indie Productions

"Intimate Melancholy"

Creeping Lovely weaves songs of intimate melancholy with crafted guitar, lyrics, and exquisite female vocals. I first listened to Creeping Lovely during a 30 mile drive through the hills of New Hampshire on an overcast, rainy afternoon, so beautifully lost in the music that I hit "repeat" twice. - Seldom Heard Radio

"Simple yet complex, Sweet yet powerful"

This cd is gentle, melancholy, emotional, beautiful, and haunting. I can't remember enjoying a cd (let alone marveling at its coolness) this much in years. - CDBaby review

Bio

Crystalline vocals, delicate acoustic guitar, and warm solo cello combine to create a hauntingly beautiful and unique music. The arrangements sparse, the mood melancholy and bittersweet, listeners are captivated by the airy vocal harmonies, and praise the music's balance of simplicity and emotional sincerity.

Creeping Lovely's sound is truely unique, but comparisons to Jewel, Mazzy Star, Sarah McLachlan, and even Nickel Creek have found their way into listener reviews.

Formed in San Francisco in 2004, Creeping Lovely began as a musical collaboration between Robb Mills (guitar) and Miriam Barry (vocals). Robb's collection of jazz and classical influenced guitar compositions and Miriam's beautifully crafted vocal melodies blended perfectly to create the music of Creeping Lovely. With the addition of cellist Shana Kirsch, Creeping Lovely's sound became warmer, richer, and even more dynamic.

Creeping Lovely released their self-produced EP in 2005. Their song "I'm Not Ready" is currently ranked #1 on GarageBand.com. The band is featured on several Clear Channel radio websites, and they are 2006 Disc Makers International Music World Series semi-finalists.
