Bio
Crepitus. The sound of two broken bones grinding together. A name that accurately describes the bone grinding metal that emits from the New Mexico based thrash band. For two years the members have been dominating the southwestern metal scene, making allies in the underground everywhere.
To Crepitus, sticking to the roots and influences is most important, not trends, in a live situation the fans want it heavy, crazy, technical, and inspiring. Crepitus delivers that and more. The band greets fans before and after the show, making friends so that the people who come to the show feel more like they are at a party with their best friends rather than with some stuck up band.
The Musical content in the band is fast and aggressive with influences like Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura, and Death. The list of influences is far too large to be listed here because every band we play with influences us in a new and different way making sure the music is never boring and always shifting enough to keep the listener entertained. The lyrical content is basically written around the theme of apocalyptic catastrophe and the rotting state of the human soul in this generation.
To conclude, Crepitus is a sign of the evolving, ongoing music of metal. With bands like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, and Shadows Fall taking back the scene from nu-metal, a newer and more powerful blast of music is clearly on it's way. Crepitus is riding that tidal wave.
