Bio
Cretura was formed in the spring of 2010 in Bergen (Norway)
After a couple of line-up changes, the music started to take shape
with a distinctive sound and visuals that is continuosly under
development. Cretura is mainly inspired by bands like Dimmu Borgir,
Nightwish, Mayhem and Children of Bodom, but also composers such as Hans
Zimmer, Howard Shore and Edvard Grieg. Music composed by Cretura often
contains symphonic elements from Norwegian Black Metal, and a mix
between female front vocals and male growl vocals.
The name Cretura derives from Latin and can be translated to "In
Creation, In Becoming and In growing" Which is something the band takes
fully to heart, and make effort in always trying to develop.
In 2013 Cretura recorded their selfproduced EP "When The Dead Goes To Dance". This EP featured 4 of the founding members of Cretura: Sárá, Markus, Jørgen and Michael. All instruments, mixing and mastering was done by the band and the result came to be a low budget recording showcasing a band full of youth and imagination. After the release the band went on to play local shows, festivals and went on a tour in Norway. After that Cretura has been more active than ever before. Going on tour in Germany as support for Six Feet Under and Maat, competing in Wacken Metal Battle in Norway where they made it to the country finals, and lastly scoring a record deal with Italian record company WormHole Death.
The band is now scheduled to release their debut album on the 8th of April, and go on a european tour as support for Angelseed from Croatia.
