Some call him “Crim”, while others simply call him “Cap.” Focusing on putting
his city DAYTON on the map, Crim is a true artist that understands nothing is free in life
so when it comes to his passion for Hip-Hop he doesn’t take it lightly. Have you ever heard the saying pain is love? Well it’s no different in Crimson’s case, because going through pain created his love. After a close friend died in a tragic car accident at age fifth teen, young Crim realized life isn’t promised. You can die at any moment, no matter who you are or what you do. Friends around Crim at this time noticed changes with in the shy teen. Crim became more out spoken and blunt because in his eyes you only have one chance at life, and no room for regrets. For everything happens for a reason, and due to these reasons Crim became more deeply involved with expressing himself with no remorse of what anyone thinks. Growing up Crim always listened to music, whether it be his Dad’s old school records, or some brand new Hip-Hop in the tape deck/cdplayer. Still coping and dealing with the death of his friend Crimson found Hip-Hop to be an outlet like therapy for the soul through expression. He began to express what he’s seen and experienced, but most importantly sharing his own views on life. This “therapy” that seemed to be the only thing to make Crim feel at peace, quickly became his passion and (in his eyes)his purpose. Not being your typical emcee with the typical background, Crim traveled around the world seeing different cultures and customs due to his Dad being in the military. Taking those experiences and the ones of his teenage years in his current and permanent home of Dayton, Crim hones his skills by soaking up his environment and in turn painting mental masterpieces with his unique word play. Hoping to entertain and inspire those with an open ear, Crimson’s aim will never change. And that’s to die with no regrets and to live everyday like its your last. Because your last day could be the first time one has truly lived.
