Bio

In today's age, there's no denying that the underground music scene is absolutely thriving. Unfortunately, it's also very saturated. In every venue in every city in every state there's always a young indie band looking to become rockstars. That's why it takes a superb level of talent, heart, and dedication and passion to rise above and reach a higher pinnacle of success. Crimson Bile has all of that, and more.

With a variety of musical styles, upbringings and backgrounds, the members of Crimson Bile have had to fight through more than just the music industry to excel to the plane they're at now. It's a combination of an eclectic mix, and an extraordinary cohesiveness that have allowed them to become a major part of the Massachusetts underground scene.

Starting as a purely hip hop side-project, Crimson Bile was born when Crakd (Anthony Santilli), and Ice-Pic (Matt Joyce) decided to release a story-based rap album, with Ice Pic covering all of the production. With no promotion or distribution except for a select few web-based retailers, the duo sold out of their first 100 copies in just weeks. Crimson Bile was an instant hit in the underground scene, both locally and nationally, and the record has sold over 300 copies to date.

Still, this was not enough for the team, who realized that the only way to ride their momentum would be to have some kind of founding base to help with promotion, distribution, and other essential needs: a record label. In true underground spirit, Crakd and Ice Pic thought it best to start their own label, so that their would be absolutely no restrictions over what music they could make, what they could do, or how and when their music could be released. Their business plan was to seek out and sign other local Massachusetts artists, in order to network and create a bigger fan base in their home state and beyond. Thus, in the Summer of 2006, Crimson Bile, the label, was born.

Shortly after the formation of the label, and taking into consideration the tremendous amount of positive feedback for the albums guitar-laced tracks, Crakd and Ice-Pic thought it beneficial to recruit a live band for their follow-up album and tour 'Out of The Ashes'?. It was decided that Ice-Pic would remain producer and vocalist. Brothers Chris and Greg Burrows were the next to join, with Chris taking over guitar and Greg becoming the drummer. Then Donny Hayes joined becoming the bassist. Shortly after the formation of the band, recording began for 'Out of The Ashes'? which is expected to be released in 2009.

2007 and 2008 has consisted of an excessive amount of promotion and success for Crimson Bile, both the band and the street team members. In addition to heavily promoting, Crimson Bile has also performed at several live events, most notably the Reverbnation Tour stop in Hartford, Connecticut, which was headlined by nationally recognized band, Rehab.
