"Crimson Fool in Rock Show Magazine"

Hey Dave, glad to be talking to you in this capacity. As you know Rock Show Magazine showcases local talent as well as well known groups on our pages. We have been friends on Facebook for a little better than a year now, and I am jazzed about finally doing this interview with you. I guess I should give a little history as to how the two of us met. You see, Dave and I met through a mutual friend’s Facebook site called Inside My Head, started by Angie, who wanted to spread awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. As most of you also know, my wife Jen was diagnosed with MS in 2002, and we raise money for the MS Society every year. I posted some stuff on her site, and Dave and I started to talk. Dave and I became friends through this site, and I have been following his updates about the new album “Sinergy.”

Mike Valente: So I guess my first question is, when is the CD going to be available and where can someone here in New York get it?

Dave Lee: Crimson Fool’s CD “Sinergy” should be out and ready for sale June 7th. We had hoped it would have already been out, but we had run into some scheduling problems as far as getting in studio to finish some backing vocals. I think that’s just the nature of the beast really and you can stress about it and “get all worked up,” or you can take a breath and roll with it.

As for our album “Sinergy,” it will be for sale in a few places... You can order it online at CD Baby (I personally prefer having the CD in my hands vs. downloads), or you can go to Amazon or ITunes. If there is a Hastings Music Store near you, you can also order it from them too. Crimson Fool is also doing something a little different as a marketing/promotion for the first 1000 CDs bought directly from their website - www.crimsonfool.com, (as opposed to downloads) and that is: For the first 1000 CDs sold from their website, we will be giving a little something EXTRA with EACH AND EVERY purchase!

With each and every CD bought directly off of the Crimson Fool website, CDs will have anything from a free music download card to swag all the way up to our second place prize of a Crimson Fool autographed guitar or Grand Prize of a two nights stay in SIN CITY!!! What better promotional kick off for the album “SINergy,” right? And the odds of winning are preeeettty good at one out of a thousand!

Mike Valente: I noticed in reading the Bio you sent that the band is based in Wisconsin but you live in New Mexico, how did you come to be in the band?

Dave Lee: Well, we are definitely a unique situation... I originally formed Crimson Fool when I had lived in Wisconsin. I had moved away some years ago and not only wanted to continue to write and record, but knew that I could get a group together of not only great guys but great musicians. So, the plan was to bust my ass for a year or so, save up enough to record at Brett Huus’s Grammy winning studio and put a great band together.

For a little over a year I worked 104 hours a week and paid for most everything upfront before even recording a note. I had played with Peter Hans in the past, and he is an amazing lead guitarist but also builds and plays concert harp, mandolin and is an accomplished concert pianist as well. I asked Peter if he would like to “get the band back together,” and he was in!

I had seen Chad Wilkinson perform with another band in the past and he had great energy, tight chops and stage presence too. I found out later that Chad was a great sound engineer and owned a recording studio too. I talked with him about playing rhythm guitar with Crimson Fool and recording originals, and Chad was on board with it.

In the beginning, we had a different singer and drummer but we had different ideas and musical tastes and we realized early on that it wasn’t the right fit for any of us. Peter had suggested his long time friend David Brown to play drums so we set up a meeting with him. Now David Brown is not just a rock drummer, but is actually a percussionist. Bio

For the last few years, fans as well as music professionals have been asking for an original band with chops, who have something to say in their music, but yet have a "real" rock sound like rock and roll used to have...wait no longer because Crimson Fool has answered the call!
Crimson Fool has raw, aggressive and ballsy rock and roll crashing back onto the airwaves and they make no apologies for it! This five man, non stop music machine has the bluesy rock feel of Motley Crue and Aerosmith with the "wall of metallic sound" that AC/DC or Guns and Roses has.
Bad-ass rock and F#&kin' roll is back and it's name is Crimson Fool! With a sound all their own, Crimson Fool will adrenalize you from their debut single - "My Sick Love Song" all the way to their rock ballad "Deadman's Hand" on their newest album "Sinergy."
Recorded in the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin (a music mecca unknown to most) Crimson Fool had the honor and opportunity to work with Grammy winning studio engineer and owner of Soundstrations Studio, Brett Huus as well as getting input from five time gold record recipient and founder of the Irish punk band "Stiff Little Fingers," Henry Cluney and 1999's Nashville song writer of the year Linda Mullholand-Fox.
"Sinergy" will RAWK YER ASS OFF and is worth checking out!
