Be Still

Written By: John Roberts Copyright © 2004 First Day Productions

Be still, and listen to the voices in the wind
And you will know the gentle love I send
Close your eyes and you will understand
Be still, and know that I am

Can you see me now, every time you see the rainbow's end
Can you hear me now, whenever you hear the whisper of the wind

Be still and listen to the rustle of the leaves
And you can feel the gentle summer breeze
Close your eyes and you will understand
Be still, and know that I am

Can you see me now, every time you see the rainbow's end
Can you hear me now, whenever you hear the whisper of the wind

Oh, yes, I know you, there are so many things I'd like to show you

Be still, and listen to the voices in the wind
And you will know the gentle love I send
Close your eyes and you will understand
Be still, and know that I am
Be still, and know

My Soldier Boy

Written By: John Roberts Copyright © 2003 First Day Productions

I run to the window, when you gonna come back home?
How should I know how long will I be alone?
Full moon rising, I put on our favorite song
No denying, miss my soldier boy, miss my soldier boy
And I keep on trying, trying to be so strong,
But I keep on crying, I don’t wanna wait, I don’t wanna wait so long.

Two little children, siting at their mamma’s knee
How can she tell them, Daddy’s gone away
What do they know, how can they understand?
Their daddy’s fighting, fighting in a foreign land

I know you had to go. I shouldn’t let my feelings show
I know what I know, what I know. I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know.
Don’t look out the window, someone’s knocking on the door
I don’t wanna know, what have they come here for?
Full moon rising, I put on our favorite song
No denying, miss my soldier boy, miss my soldier boy

And I keep on praying, praying you’ll come back home,
But my heart keeps saying I’ll always be alone, always be alone
I keep on trying, trying to be so strong
But I keep on crying, gonna be so long, gonna be so long, so long
My soldier boy.

Don't Walk Away

Written By: John Roberts Copyright © 2003 First Day Productions

Here we stand - crossroads of love, won’t you tell me what your thinking of?
Where are you going? Why won’t you stay?
Walk away, don’t walk away.

This pain I feel, will time erase- dry these tears streaming down my face?
Don’t want you to see me, see me this way,
Look away, don’t look away - look away, don’t look away.

Someone told me there’d be time enough for love
I am young, and life is so long.
But how can something start out so right
And turn so wrong, turn so wrong?

Only time will tell, only time will tell.

How can something start out so right
And turn out so very wrong?
I will walk out into the night
And sing my song, sing my quiet song.

Someday you will find out why, you should have given one more try.
I will lose my sorrow, on my own tomorrow.
Walk away, don’t walk away, walk away, go, walk away.
