Cris Tanzi is a singer songwriter originally from Italy. Her songs are acoustically driven & folk tinged. Her voice ranges from Alanis Morissette to Sleater Kinney & 'Cherish U' shows both these two influences. Tanzi's hypnotising guitar, leads the song. It has all the charm of a Sleater Kinney composition. Almost sounding simplistic & kind of bluesy it's steeped in folk feeling. "I Pretend To Be Someone/ Who's In control" she sings as gentle drumming sneeks in. Her voice has range & she likes to stray from the expected, resulting in a simple but effective drama. "I Am So Glad That You Are Near" she sings with great distinction. She shows a great song writing ability. 'The Storm' has a more brittle quality to it, combing the haunting Kings Of convenience like guitar pickings with thudding bass breaks & skipping brushed drums. The overall sound is lush, beautifully arranged strings, gentlely pluck this song out of the water. "I'm Gonna Break you/ Beware Of The Storm" she sings. Tanzi has great ability in songwriting & in her voice. Unique in her own way but shows her influences enough to make her songs universally enjoyable. 'When She Smiles' the last track on the cd shows Tanzi exploring the mystic. The general sound reminding me of The Frames more acoustic moments & Pearl Jam's 'Of The Girl'. Cris Tanzi is a real talent. Baring in mind singer songwriters are often scoffed at these days due to the influx of bland ones like James Blunt & David Gray, Tanzi is soulful & has the voice & songwriting to make her mark. Don't expect her to be writing rubbish like KT Tundstall, she has more edge & love for her art than that. Cris Tanzi should be up there with the best of them, she deserves a wider attention. That is all down to her breathtaking & soulful music. She shines in a world full of singer songwriter impostors.

"Enough" has been played on awesomeradio.net and extraplay.com radio radio 24/7.
"Enough" has also come 2nd in the overplay.com competition where i was able to win 200 submissions to radios and labels all over the world.

Listen closely for a hint of bittersweet melancholy a touch of hidden longing in the fragile folk pop of Italian singer-songwriter Cris Tanzi. Swapping her Mediterranean home for a London-based Music School (UK) a good ten years ago, Tanzi soon bumped into her future partner Alex Scaturro. A lasting, fruitful collaboration and relationship that culminated in the couple's loudest laptop/guitar project Trigger Baby. Cris Tanzi’s solo career, on the other hand, is relatively recent development: In 2005,the gifted singer finally plucked up the courage to take her voice and guitar to London's stages, where her moving songs soon gained her favourable comparison to pop's leading ladies, from Bjork to Tori Amos. Cris Tanzi her self remains unimpressed,” What I play is the sound of my life-wherever I go, good or bad, my music will always be with me."
