Bio

Cristina Paoletta (pronounced “pow-el’-etta”), is a force to be reckoned with. For her last full length CD “Skin the Apple”, Cristina worked with co-writer/producer Steve Revington and Grammy Award winning producer, John Jones (Celine Dion, Duran Duran), Ron Lopata (Mista Cronks, Soul Decision), and Dom Condo. They have assembled a superb cast of musicians for the project including Drummer Randy Cooke (Sugar Jones, Snow, Lisa Dalbello), Guitarist Justin Abedin (Dahmnait Doyle, Sugar Jones), Bassist Pat Kilbride (Sass Jordan, Full Monty), JK (Soul Decision, Pop Stars), Producer Rick Hutt (Lace, Tom Cochrane), have all helped make Cristina Paoletta’s recent recordings solid chart contenders. Whether it’s the sexy confidence of “2N21”, the positive, feel goodness of “So Lucky”, or the clever playfulness of “Presumptuous”.

Cristina studied music and drama for over fifteen years. She has trained through the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Canadian Artists Academy under the coaching of renown soprano Stephanie Bogle and at the Canadian Vocal Academy of Music by vocal coach Ian Garrett (Shania Twain) and also the respectable voice coach, Elaine Overholt (Chicago, Hairspray). Cristina has chalked up a respectable list of appearances in a variety of venues from City TV's "Breakfast Television" to Rogers "Daytime Show", the NewPLs "The Morning Show", on stage at the C.N.E., on stage on musical theatre and as a headliner on Airtours' Mediterranean cruise: "MS Sundream."

Cristina’s career has all the earmarks of a top-flight performer. To compliment her beautiful singing voice, she is an extremely dedicated artist. Working part-time as a music teacher in Toronto, she still manages the time to maintain a disciplined schedule of writing, recording, rehearsing and performing her music. Most recently, she has been singing back up for the band "Glass Tiger" and is loving it. Some accolades include recent recipient of the York Region Marketing grant and the Italian/Canadian Youth Achievement Award and a top ten finalist in Mix 99.9’s Songwriting Contest.

Her upcoming album, “Inner Soul” - produced by Damon de Szegheo (Bruce Cockburn, Serena Ryder), has the energy and power of classic soul and reflects her influences and life experiences. The album will feature songs that touch the human experience and ten tracks of bouncing, rhythmic, inspiring vocals that will strike a chord with you.
