Whereas many emerging bands are flashing back to the underground New York rock scene of the 80s, fusing modern rock w/ sounds reminiscent of the Cure, Duran Duran, and the Ramones, Critical Fuse refreshingly has fast forward a few years. This however, marks it just a bit more "poppy." Their lead vocal's timbre bares a resemblance to that of Billy Joe's (Greenday) in their first track, "Maxxed Out," but also ranges to Billy Corgan's (Smashing Punpkins) in the start of their second track, "Beautiful." Of the three tracks, "Beautiful" departs from the other two by incorporating more blatant dissonant harmonies as opposed to the stepwise nature in the first and third. His tone in "She," though more timid, has a similar whine as the lead in the Flaming Lips. This call to! the early 90s mixed with its modern alternative/indy sound is subtle, melodic, and marketable, especially towards a younger/teen target market - very soundtrack-esque for and edgy-but-not-too-angsty scene.

The band members bring experience and musicianship to their work. Front man Terence Dover has written and produced songs with Avril Lavigne,worked with Vanessa Carlton,Celine Dion and other major label artists. He is producing Indie artists in NY , Chicago & LA. Drummer Jon Payson, a drummer’s collective graduate, has extensive live and studio experience. Eran Philips adds intense and original guitar lines, and bassist Michael Papamihalis lays in strong melodic grooves. Together they create an explosive synergy that is on fire!
