Bio

'Croftstown' (formerly 'Croftstown Traffic') began its life as a three piece rock/blues covers band in 1995, formed by Guitarist/singer Christina Crofts. The band played in and around Sydney regularly including appearances on the first Australian Music Festival in Goulburn. In 1999 Christina's guitarist husband Steve joined the band after the band he was in 'The Lancaster Bombers' disbanded. A 5 track demo was recorded and as a result the band gained an appearance on the Great Southern Blues & Rockabilly Festival in Narooma. Due to the somewhat unhealthy live music scene since the introduction of poker machines in pubs, gigs became less frequent.

In 2005 Christina & Steve decided that it was time to record a debut CD for release, and for most of that year they spent time recording etc on Friday nights at Suburbia Music Studio's, resulting in a awesome debut release entitled 'Unboogie'.

Both Steve & Christina are influence by all the usual great blues/rock guitarists of the 70's, such as Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Page, Beck etc....but both have developed individual styles with great tones awesome slide playing.

The guitar playing is brilliant....the songs are a fresh take on traditional rock/blues....Christina's vocal style has a real sense of fun and attitude....the on stage vibe is magic.

**update: One of our original songs - 'Gonna Find A Way' (track 2 from our CD 'Unboogie') has been nominated as one of 10 finalists in the Australian Musicoz national song competition - in the blues category!!
