Soulful Heavy Rock

Biography

Formed in 2002, Crop Circle was blessed with early success. Before setting foot on stage the band had a surprise runaway hit with Mexican Cockfight. From there the band hit the road touring western Canada several times from Victoria to Winnipeg. Some of the highlights included performing with ZZ Top at The Bluff in Kelowna, playing Calgary Stampede with Bif Naked, 2 consecutive years on Budweiser’s True Music tour and 3 trips to Edmonton within a 3-week period. In that time Crop Circle produced 2 demo EPs and sold over 1,000 copies right off the stage. The band used those hard miles and experience on the road to write songs and develop their sound. Crop Circle then entered the studio with producer Todd Kerns to record their debut album “Come Inside.” The band wanted to cut it old school so the complete record was recorded and mixed to tape in just 2 weeks. The CD will be available in April of ‘08.

Crop Circle is comprised of a bunch of guys who grew up together in Mission, a small mill town outside of Vancouver. They all played in their first bands together in high school, so their roots run deep. In fact, the band still rehearses in an old barn out in the Valley. Crop Circle is all about friends uncompromisingly playing the music they love and having a great time doing it! Sean McCormick (vocals), Brian Garbet (guitar), Nathan Zadworny (bass) & Ben Darbey (drums).

“The Crop Circle record is amazing. Very Sabbath meets Screaming Trees. That’s the best I can describe it. Very raw. Very honest.”
Todd Kerns-Age of Electric/Static in Stereo/Faster Pussycat

“The secret is out - a long sought after mystery has been revealed. The answers to the world’s crop circle phenomenon lie here on Canada’s west coast!” Shannon Ambrose-Artist Launch Mag, TUB eZine

And Todd Hancock, the afternoon DJ on 99.3 The Fox in Vancouver, says: "I've watched Crop Circle from the sidelines for the last couple of years. These guys show great tenacity and are poised for big things. Keep an eye on them 'cause things are about to explode!"

Capitalist Bitch

Written By: Darbey/Garbet/McCormick

I want to see you
held close to pain
‘cause it’s the only thing that keeps it going baby
and all your freedom
that falls away
well that’s the only thing that keeps it working for me

help it along
wait ‘till it’s over
help it along, yeah
help it along
wait ‘till it’s over…

now you’ve been cheated
of your chance again
to just back off and back away from leaving something
it’s not your reason
its not your faith
its not the only thing that keeps it going no where

after all this detail
the legend will be
directing the route of all things

help it along
wait ‘till its over
help it along, yeah
help it along
wait ‘till its over…

I see the feel that’s got to be
I see the feel that’s got to be
I see the free that’s down to me
I see the free that’s down to me

He Said She Said

Written By: Darbey/Garbet/McCormick

Set feeling mental pages
you’ve wrestled this undone
Spent half your life time bending
just for a full stride up
Now all these blank and broken pieces
One step forward wasting time

It’s all this celebration
Its all been said before
and seemed to leave you hanging
Can’t seem to say much more
Well that’s just one more angle that’s been
Blinded by the exit light
it’s too soon to see your learning
but too late to see what you’ve been missing

Lets wait until you imagine
that you can last all night
Enough of all this fashion
too proud to still be right
Again you feel that you’ve been taken
in your space and out of time
All this while your spirits reeling
it still finds a way to get back in your head
back in your head
back in your head

Come Inside

Written By: Darbey/Garbet/McCormick

Can’t explain where you got all your peace from
No mistaking what this beast will feast on
Come inside it won’t stop raining
Come inside there is no sense in
meeting up with all this and just driving them away
always so wasted
always so wasted
always so wasted
always so wasted

Latest batch of disappointment steels you
Another curve you feel you have to turn through
Come inside its not worth thinking
Let it go there’s no use shaking
didn’t see it ending this way
started out the same
always so wasted
always so wasted
always so wasted
always so wasted

Come inside it won’t stop raining
Come inside there is no sense in
Meeting up with all this and just driving them away
always so wasted
always so wasted
always so wasted
always……...

Monger

Written By: Darbey/Garbet/McCormick

Found this – half wit
crawling near a road kill side show
Bending – hell yes
coming from the back as if I’d know

How long – how long has it been
Too far up to see yourself again
Stood your ground in a frenzied fit
Not if you can stand one round of this
Lead on – your blinded ways again

Man down – just where he belongs
Like the rest he’ll see this place alone
Its another race another point of view
One more rock face to get through
Knows all tells it like it is

Found this- hell yes
think about the way you could treat them
Red neck – out west
looking for a chance at the beach head
another way to storm the beachhead
another way to form the beachhead
another way to comb the beachhead
another way to storm the beachhead

Found this – half wit
Crawling near a road kill side show
Bending – hell yes
Coming from the back as if I’d know

Frantic as you were landing
Conflict a lie is standing
Loveless and weeping
your worst
your best
dying
flying
steeling
