Often referred to as D.C.'s best kept secret, surprisingly it isn't a secret to most. Crossover Band was created in 1991 by GOGO music legends, world renowned percussionist Rock Steady and Rapper/Vocalist Slick Rick. Crossover Band has been on a mission crossing over all genres of music including Jazz, R&B, Funk, Hip-Hop and of course Go-Go. In 1991 Crossover Band was the premier Band for Grammy nominated group Intro, touring all over the country as well as Europe, Asia and Africa. Performing such hits as RIBBON IN THE SKY, COME INSIDE and LET ME BE THE ONE. The Crossover band has graced the stage with many national artists such as Mint Condition, Rome, Patti Labelle, Aaron Hall, SW, Chuck Brown, Eric Gable, Silk, DRS, Brian McKnight, Ashanti, Cruna, Wayne County, John Legend, Snoop Dog, Kurupt & Daz, Krazy Bone and many more. Due to the untimely death of Intro's lead singer Kenny Greene, Intro disbanded and Crossover band came back home to Washington, D.C. to pursue their musical dreams and do what they do best! "Go-Go". With their vision still intact Rock Steady and Slick Rick never gave up on their dream of crossing all genres of music with a live cranking go-go feel. Through many obstacles and different band members, Crossover band has stood the test of time. To add to many accomplishments, Crossover Band was the first go-go band to play in Detroit @ the Detroit Pistons Basketball arena, and was invited to go on the And1 mix tape tour performing in Charlotte NC. Just recently Crossover Band made history as the first ever go-go band to perform in the ballroom of the luxurious Royal Palm Resort in Miami Beach Florida. It's been a struggle but this band refuses to throw in the towel, as many do, considering their battles on the local music scene. This band is a force to be reckoned with, steering away from the label as a grown and sexy band, and would like to be considered as grown and CRANKIN! For the mature and elite!
