Bio
Near the end of 2011, Bandleader and creator Andrew Price began playing jazz session gigs in New Orleans. Through these gigs, and in the glorious halls of the UNO Jazz Dept., he met several of the greatest young musicians the city had to offer, and Cross/Talk began to take shape. He gathered his favorite musicians (and best friends), and introduced several of his original compositions to them. The music took a mind of its own after these early jam sessions, and the contributions of each member led to the composition of several new tunes which will be on their upcoming self-titled EP, to be released late Summer 2012.
When asked, the band members can not name the particular influences behind the music; however, they are particularly fond of Mr. Bungle, Garage A Trois, Col. Bruce Hampton, Dead Kenny G's, Tomahawk, Ornette Coleman, Parliament, Herbie Hancock, Miles, James Brown, Weather Report, Lenny White, Maceo Parker, and countless others.
Although their cerebral avant-garde jazz influences drive the creative force behind the music, they never fail to bring their audience alive and dancing with some signature funk and rock roots. They play a vast array of music with their own flavor on everything, making them truly a band not worth missing.
