Crowded Hill

As Crowded Hill's scheduled studio time approached, all of the pieces started to come together. Four months prior to recording their first EP, "Been In Control Since", Crowded Hill consisted of two friends, Billy Shoemaker and Cale Kniffin, writing and playing music together. As the band grew, with the addition of Jack Dennison and Hans Bohlmann, the music evolved and ventured in new directions.
Crowded Hill takes their influence from quite a range of styles. Bands and musicians such as Dave Mathews Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Storyville, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and John Mayer have inspired the style and sounds of Crowded Hill.
In July of 2009, the band spent five days recording at Premium Recording Service in Austin, Texas. The recording experience was an opportunity for each member to grow musically and embrace their role in the band. The final product is seven songs that demonstrates the group's variety; from catchy piano melodies to wailing guitar solos.
Since leaving the studio, Crowded Hill has spent time refining their live show by performing at numerous private parties and clubs in Austin. They also have been busy writing and perfecting several new songs, which have become a part of their growing set list.
