Meet the Crown Holdaz, the versatile new R&B and hip-hop duo from Memphis, TN. After a fateful meeting in 2009, rap artist BC and R&B singer Yung Phil have proven to be an unstoppable force on their journey to the throne.

The Crown Holdaz’ first major move was the independent release of “Welcome to the Moon,” a mixtape that laid the foundation for their reputation as standout musicians.

Shortly after the release, the Crown Holdaz received news that catapulted the two into a different realm of rising musicians: the two were invited to perform as the opening act for Trey Songz’ sold-out performance at their hometown’s Cannon Center. The opportunity to perform in front of their fan base created a confidence and a drive that has become unstoppable. Shortly after their performance, they did their first meet-and-greet with waiting fans in the Cannon Center lobby; then, they were off to focus on their master plan.

In May 2010, Crown Holdaz released their first radio single, “Man on the Moon.” After moderate success in the independent circuit, the duo headed back to the studio to perfect their sound and prepare for their next project. Committed to making their subsequent mixtape bigger and more appealing than ever, Crown Holdaz titled the project “Dynamite Reflection.” What’s the meaning of the ambiguous title? BC puts it simply: When I look in the mirror, I see myself blowing up.
