"Crudelaque Jailed on Morals Charge!"

Once again, these four giants of men have shocked the inner southeast population of Portland, Oregon by naming their music "Titrock". We will not be surprised if they creep like lichens across the rock and roll web of Portland-and possibly the world. - The Schlock and Roll Rag

Bio

Crudelaque (pronounced "KROO-duh-lack") are Portland, Oregon's sole proprietors of "titrock." What, exactly, is "titrock?" We don't know, but no one else in Portland is doing it. Rather than playing dressup and whining like little bitches (like most of their rain-soaked neighbors), Crudelaque are doing their damnedest to give rock and roll back to the people that deserve it most.

Singer/”left hand” guitarist/main songwriter Unkateebo hails from Gainesville, Florida and has played with When Puberty Strikes, Anklebiter, Custom Guage, and The Search Party. Unkateebo is the major driving force of Crudelaque, bringing fiery song craft paired with a searing vocal style and solid, driving guitar.

Drummer Cody Tatum comes from the farmland of Southeast Washington, where he learned to play drums using fence posts as sticks and the Earth as his drum. Prior to bringing his steady heartbeat (and eerily warm backup vocals) to Crudelaque, he played with the Warstars, the Testicles, and the Consequences .

Chad Allan (“right hand” guitar/backing vocals) also hails from the fertile soil of Southeast Washington, first meeting Cody at the infamous Ball Grade Rock and Beer Garage HorseSweat Festival in 1995.

Chad joined forces with Unkateebo and Cody in late 2006, having been poached from the late, great Portland Organic Wrestling to play with Crudelaque. He has also played with Failure to Thrive and the Inflatable Love Sheep. His guitar sound, sonically sculpted to make enemies and ruin lives, has melted the panties off many an audience member...male and female.

The seeds of Crudelaque were sown in the late 90's at the now defunct Marco's Pizza in Portland, Oregon. Marco's on Hawthorne was a swirling vortex of rock 'n' roll talent, spewing out members of the Hunches, the American Girls, and the Troutdale Horvaths. (Their dedication to good pizza and rock will surely be missed.) This is the musical hotbed where members Unkateebo and Cody met. First playing as the Testicles, and later, the Consequences, the inseparable guitar/drum duo would meet up again in 2005, building Crudelaque into what it has become today.

Crudelaque had the honor of playing the prestigious Sunday night slot at the Grand Cafe underground bar (the "Cha-Cha Lounge') for a full year before anyone even knew the bar was there. Now they frequently play around Portland and are planning a tour later in the year.

On June 13, Crudelaque will release their first album, “Salluste.” Recorded (live, with minimal overdubs) and mixed in three frantic days at the legendary Smegma Studios in 2007, the 13-song album catches the band in full prime, while pointing at what promises to be a rich musical future.
