Formed in July of 2014 CRYPTIC HYMN is a blackened death metal outfit out of Louisville, KY featuring current and previous members of Anagnorisis & Voyage of Slaves. After their formation the band quickly took the stage with bands like ARSIS, MISERY INDEX, HATE ETERNAL, BEYOND CREATION, and RIVERS OF NIHIL as well as embarking on two tours across the United States. Released in September of 2015, Nocleansinging.com declared the band's EP 'Gateways' a "finely-brewed death metal broth" and "one of 2015’s best debut releases."
