"CRYPTIC REALITY - WHEN THE TOWERS DECAY"

"Cryptic Reality may look like a modern rock band, but these boys deliver in the metal department... It is power and thrash metal top to bottom on When the Towers Decay. Bands like Meliah Rage are known for this style except Cryptic Reality goes at it with a lot more style and power. ...the guitars are creative and heavy and bassist Evan Crowe adds a loud and heavy dimension to this band with his distorted presence." - Sheila Wes Det/The Metallian

Bio

Between the countless bourbon distilleries and endless fields of bluegrass, there is a metal band that is trying to stand out from the country music artists and armies of radio rock that populate the state of Kentucky. That band is Cryptic Reality.
In Bowling Green, home of the Corvette, four friends from Western Kentucky University are fed up with the crab-core bands that have taken control of the music, and are returning metal to its roots.
Influenced by the metal forefathers like Priest and Maiden, as well as newer bands like Bodom and Nevermore, the 19 to 21-year-olds each bring a different taste of the genre into their writing which makes the band a melting pot of thrash, progressive, and power metal.
“When the Towers Decay” is an anthology of the band’s history up to this point, and has been years in the making. The reason is, just like bourbon, they had to wait for the band itself to age and mature, as is evident by the changing styles of the songs on the album. As the band got older, the writing got more sophisticated.
With their second album already in the works, these youngsters are on their way to breaking out of the musical limbo of Kentucky, and taking the Midwest, then the country by storm. With time in their favor, “When the Towers Decay” is the first step of a long and explosive career from Cryptic Reality.
