Very few artists dare to venture into the depths of emotions, thoughts, pains and joys of a woman like the fearless Crystal Zion. With no extensive musical background, just the gift of expression and sensitivity, she arrives on the music scene with a pen and a voice that holds back nothing as she reveals the inner most vibration of a woman’s soul. In her new release EP/CD entitled, Crystal Zion Anguish & Passion, she explores, with raw honesty life’s experiences ranging from the passion of a joyous orgasm in “Tip Toe,” to the anguish of a failed love in “Rain,” to the realization that she is the only one who can change her life and her destiny in “Change.”

Originally from the small town Bessemer, Alabama, Crystal Zion comes to us by way of Atlanta, Georgia where she began her quest to “Know Thyself.” “I knew that this (Atlanta) is where I would get the answers to my hard questions: What am I here to do? What do I have to give? And where’s that dream husband God promised to give me? Well, the questions were the beginning of the journey, the journey led to writing and keeping journals and the journals led to songs. Then finally the songs were given voice – to my surprise, my voice.” The artist says that her writing style is influenced by no one in particular, but admits that the neo soul/alternative generation has been an inspiration behind her unique, no boundaries vocal style, including greats like India.Arie, Macy Gray, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. But there is no denying that her vocal style is also reminiscent of the pop era legends, including Tina Turner and Grace Jones. Crystal Zion’s ability to communicate volumes, spiked with emotion is truly a phenomenon and the mark of a legendary artist. She admits, “I never thought I would actually be singing, but knew I would write from my heart and I knew I had a lot to say to the world.”
