Bio

After years of lending life to their music with the heaviest of drums, SF/LA duo Cubik and Origami turned to one another and said, “I wonder what we’d do without all that?” Many long-distance sessions later Matthew Madrone and George Cochrane had the answer: the glittering songs that make up the core of their upcoming album, “Chairs”.

The word of the day for “Chairs” is evolution, both in its direction and the unhurried yet intricate progression of its sounds. Subliminal sparkles bloom into room-filling clouds over the span of minutes, and tiny snatches of vocals burn trails through space. Fans of Cubik and Origami’s more percussive work will find a lot to love here—The textural detail, ambitious arrangements, and wide palette remain, but the frame is all-new.

“Chairs” beckons you to close your eyes and drift into a more lustrous tomorrow.
