Bio

The hard-drive becomes a human machine called CUBIKY.

The evolution of sound set forth in their first record self-titled, CUBIKY, which was released in 2004 under the independent label Escuchalo Records, now consolidates to become an electro-power trio that fuses the energies, feelings, sensations and sounds of the three elements that form the concept of CUBIKY.

Carlos Sotelo (programming, guitar, voice and keyboards), Trippy Castillo (bass, voice and synths) and Alex Arce (drums, kaoss pad) are CUBIKY, a group that dedicates itself to break cultural and linguistic barriers through danceable electronic melodies which are both with fresh, pleasant and powerful.

Their stage presence along with the incredible energy of their live shows have made them heavy hitters in the Latin Alternative music scene of Los Angeles taking them abroad to play at such events like the "DJ Dance", the annual festival that is celebrated in Acapulco (Mexico), the South By South West music festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, alternating with artists like Plastilina Mosh, Nortec Collective, Andrea Echeverri, Ely Guerra and Lucybell among others. Theyve taken their multimedia show on the road through much of the United States and have also visited several cities in Mexico like Guadalajara, Toluca, Cuernavaca, Puebla and even performed in a special show at the historical Zocalo in Mexico City.

They took part in the "Homenaje a Los Tigres Del Norte" (Fonovisa) tribute album with an electro rock version of the legendary song "Golpes en el corazón". This disc includes other well known rock en español stars such as Cafe Tacvba, Molotov, Julieta Venegas, Botellita de Jerez, Titan and many others. They also took part in the "Electronic Latin Freaks" compilation published in Spain which brings together the best of World Latin electronic music. Furthermore, they are also included a compilation by Cremosonic (Mexico).

The video for their song "Conmigo" is in rotation in MTVS, LATV, SITV, HTV and MUN2.

At the moment, the trio is hard at work at Blue Plant Studios in the City of Commerce (California) recording the tracks that will undoubtedly make up "AURA, their second commercial release.

CUBIKYs next tour is scheduled to visit a number of US cities and extend to Mexico, Central America, South America and Europe.
